It's very sad and worrying, and it's going to get worse. It is now apparent that the theory of eugenics by "the elite" has moved out of the tin foil hat concept and into reality. I gather ISIL has claimed "credit" for the attack, and radical Islam seems to be part of the new army for eugenics.

Imagine for a second what could have happened in England if the guns could be accessed as easily as in US?

For instance, check out this site - http://www.shootingtracker.com/ It tracks the shootings where 4+ people were injured or killed. The numbers are dramatic.

When we are talking about gun control, I`m not stating that guns should be banned completely, I state that citizens should not be able to purchase assault rifles. Hand gun with proper training is a fair choice of self defense, but a hand gun will not be as effective as an assault rifle when you are shooting from the 37th floor of a hotel.

Anyway, I am a fan of non-violent way of dealing with issues. In my opinion, educated people are being the hardest to radicalize. Good and accessible education should be the best way of dealing with radical violence.

Americans do amazing things, but in some areas they are so stubborn and they will never learn. Part of their "we are the best country in the world and the all that american dream thing". No matter what happens, 100 more of these, they will still believe they got it right. It's not just money, if it was just money people could change that. But it's the people. Even if you run a pole today in Texas or all the center - I doubt more than 30% will be in favor of limiting the access go guns.

According the nonprofit project the Gun Violence Archive, there were 12,562 gun deaths in 2014 and 9,959 in 2015 thus far. That's a grand total of 301,797 firearm-related deaths in the past decade, compared to 71 deaths from domestic acts of terrorism.

This is really sad news and this has never ever happened before in the whole history of the USA. Why didn't this guy go and get some help for himself? He should have spoke to somebody about feeling troubled and depressed. I really hope and pray that something like this never happens again in our already very fragile world.

I think media has a responsability too, news videos, social media, even video games and other type of information sources should be conscious. I saw a video of a 12 year old shooting his classmates on facebook. Years ago, this did not happen.. what you see is what you get, and the more they show videos, the more crazy people will emerge. There should be connsciousness in media, and in personal sharing of news.

Allfreechips, obviously won't convince you since having the ability to buy a gun is part of your life probably since you were a kid. Just as a point of view, for me, the idea of walking into a hiking equipment store, where there are plenty of children, and being able to buy shotguns - is insane.

Btw, maybe stopping this ridiculous brown paper bag law and instead educating people might help a bit in regards to driving. What's the point of that bag law anyway? what it's supposed to solve?

it all comes down to if someone wants to kill mass amounts of people they will. Gun is a tool just like a semi truck. Imagine if he stole an 18 wheeler and drove through the crowd?

The only way to do gun control is to erase them from history and people minds, a decent shop worker can machine a revolver in under 1 day from blank steel.

what new laws are needed past murder? What crazy liberal gun laws would have prevented this?

Oh and what is an assault rifle? Still not sure what that means. Semi automatic? I have yet to see a rifle go and assault anyone by itself
