Another Google Update Coming Up?

Hi all,

Been out of the loop on GPWA in the last couple of months, but looks like it's a good time to have a chat with folks here.
I haven't seen any official Comms about upcoming updates but my GSC shoes "last.updated" 60 something hours ago, which isn't something you'd see for no reason.

Wanted to check in with others here to see if you're seeing something similar in GSC?

GSC has been been patchy for a while now - Barry Schwartz has been reporting on it here: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-...yed-40544.html

Whether that's in any way related to an upcoming update remains to be seen, although it has been a while since the last one. Barry's also reported on a few unconfirmed updates lately which were likely to have been algorithm tweaks rather than major updates.

Also a mass of crawling check your Search console, not seen this size of crawling since the helpful content updates when google favoured one click AI and parasite seo over real content creators. So the results have been bas sense the HCU and have got worse. it-s now pure AI plain text format rinse and repeat across the web. So i expect this next update o be a rebuilt algorithim. if not then it´s not just content creaotrs dying but google too. as there wont be anything to promote and most people will just jump to chat GPT

Oh yes, that doesn't seem like the most probable cause of the delay, though the update clearly hasn't reached me yet

Something is going on for sure. Google loves releasing core updates right before Christmas.

I've been following GSC on LinkedIn for quite a while now, and I've noticed that over the past month, they've been announcing and releasing updates almost daily.

I also see delays in the stats in GSC. There is also a noticeable drop in traffic from Google, I hope it's temporary. On the other hand, traffic on Bing is increasing. I hope everything will stabilize after some time.

Yop, GSC shows 0 impressions and clicks in last 24 hrs. If some update is coming, I hope it will not be a spam one, we were hit by it in August and it was not nice.

I really don't see any major changes yet from this update.

It is the reality we are living in, this is not the first time we see the delay in GSC, at the same time Google rewards the websites that are following the rules, sooner or later, but it rewards

It might be because of this: Released the December 2025 core update. The rollout may take up to 3 weeks to complete.

The core update is still ongoing. It should take about another week and a half. How are your rankings doing? Some of my very good subpages have dropped, others are holding their positions, and most are fluctuating.

Usually, during previous updates, I didn't see any changes. This is the first time there have been such fluctuations. Overall, since the update, traffic from Google has dropped by about 50%. I hope this is temporary.

For our industry the results for me are 70% AI slop in the top 20... after that even more. even some of the biggest sites are being replaced by garbage.

Its all about being a brand ... if rankings tank, they tank for reason.
Currently: missing link power, missing eeat or just categorized as affiliate.
Have a look at Ahrefs at Casino.org PLUS its acquisition Casinoscores ... its a powerhouse!
Links, EEAT, brand signals like hell = less affiliate signals = rankings.
