    I'm with you polka...

As a kid I played on my Atari 2600 and then aced NES.

Then, consoles got too many dang buttons... So I switched to PC gaming.

In college I had a bunch of computer science buddies and we would set up a little lan (10-15 people) and play games like Duke Nukem, Quake, and Warcraft all night long. In Q2 I was world ranked under #500. I got into Unreal and that was the end of it...

Nowadays I just dont have time... We got a Wii earlier in the year, but I hardly call that gaming... it's fun though!

I use to LUV Space Invaders! I forgot about that one because I only go to play it at the Bowling Alley during mom's league nights. hehe

Kids are extremely good on video games (as we all know), but a few of my nephew friends were surprised when they played against hubby and I! One of them was in tears by the time it was over as hubby has NO mercy on them.

Wow! Great to see so many gamers and ex-gamers here at GPWA.

I have just spent basically my entire weekend playing WoW. My warlock is now level 61 and can fly

    LOL

    Guess I am addicted

I stayed away from Evercrack and WOW type games because:

    1. I've heard they're too addicting

    2. I am opposed to paying a monthly fee to play a game, I'm a one-time fee kinda guy

I was the same, resisted playing WoW for about 4 years and finally decided to give it a go.

For the gameplay and social aspect of the game, I am not really bothered by paying for the subscription monthly. Having said that, games are really my only big hobby so I can justify a little bit of expendable cash on it

I use to be the same way as far as paying, but now I'm spending real cash on virtal stuff. I'm in the $xxx range so far and it's funny because it's something I would have thought was totally nuts last year. hehe If those games are more addicting than what I'm playing now then I better not dare try them this year.

I spent my weekend at Cafe World while working. Since you have to be at the PC anyway may was well have some sort of outlet.

    PS3 FTW!

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is my latest poison.

Love the Sports games too. My girlfriend has threatened to break my Pro Evo disc on more than one occasion.

Other games that I enjoy are UFC, Ashes Cricket, Bioshock...

Is Modern Warfare good? I am on the fence as I'm part way through Borderlands at the moment as well so curious to know what you think before I go pick it up too.

I'm referring to Modern Warfare 1, but if it's anything to go by, the second one would be fantastic.

the single player campaign was fun enough, despite being very short, but the multiplayer is fantastic. I can't wait to get the sequel (Mod Warfare 2).

Borderlands looks cool too. It's made by the same people that did BioShock (2K). Started playing that but never got right into it. Think I might have at it tonight.

In Q2 I was world ranked under #500
Which is pretty sick imho , i mostly played Ctf in the Division 2(Clanbase). [BugX] was the Clan i played for.

You might enjoy this pretty sick UT Video (stream). Looking at the Video i realize just how bad modern first person shooter are, boring movement boring weapons.

You know you can buy one of those 100-in-1 classic video games at Target for like $19.95 now... LOL... all those favorites you grew up with. I came so close to buying one but I realized my kids would never play it and I wouldn't have the time... so regretfully I passed it up.

Funnily enough, one of the malls here in Thailand actually has some sort of 20-in-one arcade table... I was kinda drooling looking at Space Invaders, Zaxxon, 1942, Ms Pac Man, Galaga, Tron... haha...

Actually, I was sort of wrong, I started with the original Pong game... I remember how exciting I thought that was!

But after all these years, I still prefer pinball over video games. I remember when a dime would last all day because I'd get replay after replay after replay... funnily enough my favorite pinball machine of all time was called Royal Flush!

    Can anyone say SingStar?

I have been banned from taking it to any weekends away, and noone will play with me at home because they can't beat me.

    Boooo!

If only they had SingStar where you could compete across the net with people you don't know.

I tried the American Idol thing, but the microphone is collecting dust in the closet. hehe

I'll check out SingStar, but be warned that you may get song under the table because I'm good and love music. hehe

Just kidding. You should post some vidoes of a performance for us Renee.

I keep telling you that you can sing in Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band Renee, then we just need to recruit a guitarist and a basist (I'll play the drums) and Guitar Hero World Tour championships here we come!

I didn't make it up, it's a real thing you know.. Guitar Hero World Tour championships: Link

Yes yes I know, but it doesn't have any songs I like... I have it at home and it is collecting dust.. It's just not the same when you already play an instrument or two.

GamTrak - when I record my first song I will upload it here

    Cheers

Cool! I'm sure it will be a riot. hehe

Well, my gaming days are numbered because I found out yesterday that I have to have surgery on my right wrist due to my RA so I'm gonna have to pray for 'voice activiated' games of the future if I want to continue to get down like I have in the past! Bummer.

Star Craft 2 looks like it is going to be awesome, I'm still not sure if I'll pick it up yet though, if it's ever released that is!

Maybe it's a blessing in disguise... You can still hold a mic with your left hand
