Audio on websites
I have another site which is for a gym I own in London and I was thinking about putting audio on it but have always been hesitant in the past. Do you think audio is a good idea I am not talking about music, I hate that but actually someone talking to you.
Here is my site xx.www.myfitnessstudio.co.uk.xx
and here is an example site which I liked with audio
xx.http://www.pimlicoplumbers.com/.xx
let me know what you think about audio?
Thanks

I think music or any kind of sound on a website is simply annoying. There is no medium. People often listen to music on their pc's while working or have the radio/TV on in their homes. They don't want to hear anything on a website. I mean if a banner makes a sound for a second ( flash ) then OK that's fine but other than that I would say no.

I agree with pumacat on this one. An alternative might be to have a section where the visitor can click to listen because they are interested.

I agree with the above posts - if you want to add some video or audio, make it an option. Hollywood Poker is a prime example of video/audio being a nuisance. The first time you visit, it's ok but for the repeat customer, it gets old fast. To me, it's as annoying as pop ups/pop unders and auto download scripts.

I can't stand audio on web pages, in fact a lot of the time if I can't instantly see how to turn it off I'll just close the page.
I'm talking about audio that starts automatically on a page here, something you can request to hear is fine.
