Arrow Battle of the Forums -- Win your Share of $5,000

If you're looking for the ancient Battle of Thermopylae where King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army, you've come to the wrong place.

If you're looking for a brand new Battle of the forums sponsored by ReferBack and arranged by Shane, one of our favorite affiliate managers, where members of GPWA and CAP will spin till the end, you are at the right place.

THIS battle will go down in history!

Battle plan… there will be 2 slot tournaments, which only registered players will see, which allows you to a chance to play both slots currently in the tournament build, namely Thunderstruck and Tomb Raider.

Each tournament will be 5 minutes with 5000 credits to spin!

Not happy with your score, want to push on for one last killing stroke? All entrants will be allowed one additional FREE “buy-in” PER TOURNAMENT – this will give you an additional 1000 credits and 2 minutes to deliver that final blow to your rival forum!

    The Battle begins...
    Date: Thursday, 20 September 2007
    Time: 5pm/17h00 - USA (EDT/gmt-4)
    Time: 10pm/22h00 - UK (gmt+1)

Each warrior with the most points in each of the two tournaments will be the Overlord for that specific slot and will each take home $1,000 cash!

There is a $5,000 prize pool:

    To register:
    • Download the River Belle software, http://www.riverbelle.com/dodload.asp.
    • Register a real money account (no deposit required).
    • Go to Games Lobby, then choose category "Tournaments," then "Slots," then "Scheduled."
    • Create an alias in the slots tournament section by joining any free slot tournament. Please note that the Battle of the Forums will not appear in the system and you will need to register for one of the regularly-occurring smaller tournaments in order to select an alias.
    • Check your email for your account number, which is sent after you register.
    • Send an email with the subject line "GPWA Warrior for Battle of the Forums" to forumbattle@gpwa.org and include your a) GPWA Nickname, b) RiverBelle Slot Alias, and c) RiverBelle Account Number in the body of the message.

    IMPORTANT NOTES:
    1. If you live in one of the “hot” states please register with CALIFORNIA as your state. The ReferBack risk team will allow it to pass until 1 October at which point the account will be closed.
    2. All winning will be paid out with the next ReferBack payment run.
    3. All winner Aliases will be posted on GPWA and CAP the day after the battle!

I'll be there myself, and I hope you will be too. Fifteen minutes of your time for a chance to win one of two $1,000 prizes or one of 38 other prizes that total $3,000 with only 150 contestants all together is a truly incredible opportunity to play these slots.

Sounds very interesting but I must yell "This is Sparta!". It would be foolish to miss this event.

Over at the CAP website there has been some discussion about on whose side those who are registered both at CAP and GPWA should play. Of course the answer is the GPWA. But I thought it was worth posting the dialogue here too!

Ultimately it's the alias you choose for the slot tournament (same way as when you had to create a poker alias) that you will play under... it can be different to your forum Nickname.

Good one Michael! most certainly be wearing the GPWA shield. The shield will mask my true nature "Spartan".

    Some motivation perhaps?

The battle takes place Thursday, September 20th, at 9pm Greenwich Mean Time, or

    11pm Central European Summer Time
    10pm Western European Summer Time
    5:30pm Newfoundland Daylight Time
    5pm Eastern Daylight Time
    4pm Central Daylight Time
    3pm Mountain Daylight Time
    2pm Pacific Daylight Time
    1pm Alaska Daylight Time
    noon Hawaii-Aleutian Daylight Time
    11am Whiskey Time Zone

If you're not sure what time zone you are in, just get up at 11am and drink whiskey until the tournament begins. That way if you have to wait a long time you won't care anyway.

Well, the Professor responded to my last post in the CAP forum as follows:

Too much mead indeed! Me thinks there is no such thing!

And certainly there will be no feasting on the flesh of emerald green dragons!

So that we will be able to long remember our victory in the battlefield tomorrow I've added a new smiley to our repertoire - the green dragon.

Join us in the battle tomorrow. The deadline for signing up for the spoils has been extended until Thursday, September 20, at 3am EDT. There remains plenty of room on the battlefield for additional warriers.
