    Question Best call-to-action button text?

What do you think is the best call-to-action button text?

Maybe some of you have done all sorts of tests on your own site and share your results and thoughts.

In my opinion, it all depends on the site, whether the topic is casinos or sports. It seems to me that in casino you can afford to be more creative. Play now! button is unlikely to suit a sports betting site, although this also depends on other factors.

I personally like calls to action that dont pressure the user, such as Visit Bet365, Go to Bovada and others of that style.

I probably didn't list many possibilities in the survey, these are probably the most popular.

My understanding from discussions with partners like bet365 and betfred is that the UK has restrictions on calls to action.

They have banned phrases that promote immediate action (like "now") or freebies ( like "bonus" or "Free bet" )
I still see them on affiliate sites of course - but have been directed to steer clear of them for UK, Australia, Canada (regulated targets).

    3. CLAIM YOUR FREE SPINS
    4. CLAIM YOUR FREE BONUS

The button text will often depend on the context (and even your GEO) and the potential search intent, but in most cases I personally stick with "Visit Site" or something along those lines as I see it as neutral and not as pushy.

I don’t quite understand what button you are talking about, where and what you need to prompt? Much more specificity is needed here. Cause better call-to-action like this will be “click and get $500”

I find Visit Now, Join, or Register to be solid CTAs. Most sites you are sending traffic to will have Join, Register or Sign Up as their CTA to bring up the registration form. It also depends on the context of where the button is, and the content its with,

As Gooner said above, UK-facing sites need to be careful with words that imply a sense of urgency, so words like 'now' on a button will probably become a compliance issue at some point or other with most programs.

I agree that they're effective phrases but they all breech the latest UK guidelines.

All of these will have your licensed UK operators in a spin.
They are likely to be fined - if spotted - which will negatively affect their relationship with you.

Of course if they are unlicensed offshore programs you can ignore the guidelines - but if your licensed operators see them it's still painful.

Agree that the phrases that suggest urgency may be ever so slightly more attractive or effective, Gooner makes a great point.

I also have used some of those terms in the past, but have been trying to move away from such for a while. The terms "visit casino" or "visit brand name" is so much safer to use to not have to return later to change if an operator requests.

I would say that it depends on the intent of visitors. So for example, if they are bonus hunters -> Claim bonus! is the way to go

I don't know exactly how it is in the U.S. now, probably a lot depends on the state, but sportsbookreview com has just these kinds of calls (BET NOW), and it's a recognizable site and would surely be quickly noticed by licensed bookmakers.

Yeah the US hasn't been captured by the "problem gambling" lobby crowd yet so the rules are fairly standard much like the UK and Australia was 20 years go. Pretty much a tax grab and little actual monitoring.

The madness will come in soon enough … although if Vegas and existing US Casino interests continue to expand their reach into online sports / poker and casino gambling then they'll probably be able to out lobby the lobbyists and keep things sane.

I believe there's no such thing as the best call to action button text because the decision depends heavily on the website and the visitors you're trying to attract. When I was starting and working as a ghostwriter, I remember one that worked very well for a client. There were several buttons scattered throughout the text, and one of them said something along the lines of 'Just give me the guide.'

As others have pointed out, sometimes we can't use certain words for legal reasons. However, as long as we're being direct and appealing to urgency or immediacy, I think we can achieve at least pretty decent results.

I agree that there is no one right call to action button, and that much depends on the specific site and its target audience. However, I believe that certain principles and best practices can help you create effective call to action button texts.

Using words like "now", "today" or "free" can also create a sense of urgency and encourage people to act while the offer or opportunity is still available.

Additionally, I think it's important to consider the tone and style of your brand when creating call to action button texts. Calls to action should be consistent with the overall impression of your site and brand to create a unified and memorable experience for users.

Ultimately, the best call to action button text for your site will depend on your specific goals and audience. It is recommended that you A/B test different texts to determine what works best for you.
