    Hi Sweetbet,

    Thanks..

Yeah, I know it's really popular and seems like most people use it..

I see different sites like squarespace and weebly similar to wordpress..

I'm used to owning software and running it on your own computer, so wondering if there is any software like wordpress that you can own yourself..?

Bootstrap studio might suit you? For me, I am now able to get by with Mobirise (with the html editor extension) after a load of recent updates.

I always use WordPress - easy to build, extend (through plugins) and maintain (either from desktop, mobile map or even email - for content addition on the move).

Really easy to use in terms of adding and managing that all important site content too

As long as you choose a good theme or use the default themes (that come with WordPress) then you'll be good to go for desktop and mobile friendly pages too.

    Thanks everyone for your ideas..

    Really appreciate it..

So I just signed up with SiteGround for hosting and are having WordPress installed...

After being out of site building for a few years things are definitely way different...

I did't even realize till a couple days ago that there were 2 versions of WordPress so to speak.. Lol....

    WordPress.com and WordPress.org...

    Little re-learning to do..

Now for the theme search... A lot of possibilities.. right..?

I'm looking at this site - vegashero.co - has what looks like real neat casino theme ready to go..

    Whatdaya you guys think..?

    Thanks

I don't think that is a theme, but just a plugin for casino games

Wordpress.org is the self hosting solution and is the preferred option for businesses. You can sign up for a free blog at wordpress.com. They are both great products but they have different uses. I am a big wordpress fan.

I am looking at the Avada theme on Themeforest for a new project as it has just about everything one might need. It has sold nearly 300,000 so I take it that is a recommendation in itself.

There was also another theme advertised on gpwa which has proved popular with some of the members.

wordpress.com --> free blog solution but with a lot of limitations (obviously), you will end to move to the wordpress.org :P
wordpress.org --> the business solution, here you will enjoy to build and test your website (you can easily install it with 1-click in almost all hosting providers)

    Good luck

It is wordpress for sure. If you need something more flexible than your 'yet another wordpress blog', you can just get some page builder plugin and construct whatever you think up of fast and professionally looking.

I recommend 100% Wordpress as well. Siteground for hosting was a great choice, we use them too for many of our sites.

VegasHero is a plugin that is compatible with most Wordpress themes. You can find a list of well built and highly customizable themes here https://vegashero.co/best-casino-gam...dpress-themes/ . We have built great looking sites with these and seen affiliates use them with success.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Petimi,

    Neat to see you're here..

So I just realized, and I assume it's true that wordpress is what you would call back end site development software..

Not a WYSIWYG site software builder, which is what I'm used to using..

I just found a theme called DIVI, which is a theme that is a WYSIWYG site builder for wordpress..

The Divi Theme is a fully featured WordPress theme.

It also includes the Divi Builder, which is a stand-alone WYSIWYG plugin which can be installed alongside any other wordpress theme.

This sounds really good to me..

It's available at elegantthemes . com

Wondering if anyone here has used it..?

    Thanks

Wordpress is a Content Management System. It provides you with an admin interface to manage backend functionality, content and via themes you can customize its look easily.

Divi is a really versatile theme with tens of thousands of sites using it and yes, it has a visual page builder.
It makes creating page layouts effortless and if you used to build sites in a WYSIWYG editor then this kind of drag and drop page builders should help you out big time.

In general Elegant Themes produce very solid products, I have personally built sites with their themes and used it for client work too.
