Default Bet365 decided not to pay since 09/2025

    Ok, here it is.

Bet365 just called me and told me that since September they will no longer pay the past revenue for the inactive accounts. (Mostly those terminated on 2017 during the great purge)

They will pay for August and probably for September.

They wrote off their reputation and integrity and they know what they are doing. They will be sending notices to all parties affected. I was authorized to write about it.

I am going to lit a candle here is a heavy snowfall. It is like leaving someone I loved (or being dumped by).

In the end everything and everyone is for sale.

This might affect site selling as well. If you asked me yesterday if I have something worth selling, I would say "yeah".

Right now, I'm saying "no way, not selling anything".

Yes, they switched off my login as well (was working 2 days ago). It will be enabled for me by 1st August I was told. To have time to withdraw the revenues. The notices will be sent in near future I was told.

This is the end result of the thousands of regulations in the European Union and beyond.
    The end.

Makes a lot of sense. No new owner would wanna purchase a business for 9 billion, and start with an outstanding reoccurring monthly debt. So we helped bet365 grow, what do they care? They weren't there, they just wanna purchase it.

However kudos to bet365 for being what they were for so long, it's like an end of an Era.

This concludes the whole "lifetime commission" selling point for any sports betting program now.

Did you have the same offer? Did they mention your issues to you as exact reason to end payments?
From your message it sounds like ALL inactive affiliates are affected (with or without issues)?

Maybe you have a point. Just a slight chance for others, but I really do not think it is real.

Maybe I misunderstood and they want me to punish for the ads that were not removed, because they could not be removed, because I have no control over the browsers or websites of others. But the AM said it as two distinct things. (1. We need to substract you the already paid commissions since 2017 for the referred players since then 2. We will be closing down the inactive accounts and focus on active affiliates and building trust with them [sic!]. But ok, I am not a native speaker and it is possible I lost something important.

I actually had two issues. 1st I was not paid since January (got my Dec invoice in June paid, then invoices blocked again, then account blocked again). 2nd the "overpayment" from my affiliate links after 2017. The overpayment actually makes me think that this is the end of era and they just became a normal company like any other, because in the past they always covered the mistakes or uncertain things in favor of the counterparty. That made them so f***ing special. That was, I think, the old spirit of Peter Coates or something like that. Something precious that was gone even for my generation. Ideologically a spirit that casino has always an edge, so they should favor a gambler but also any counterparty in case of special company Bet365. I could feel it at old school bookies like 5dimes (owner killed) or TheGreek (owner gone) towards players. Bet365 did this gesture of goodwill towards me few times, so this is why they were special.

Now they take suddenly everything and so long, and thanks for all the fish. I have way too many emotional thoughts, maybe good for a separate mourning thread. This is a tragedy for affiliate managers as well. They might think and hope they will continue as until today. But no, if we are culled, the same will happen as elsewhere. They will lose the job because they are no more needed. It happened at Bwin, Coral, SIA... Since yesterday I am not sure if even people at Bet365 knew that Bet365 was really special and why. It was not their marketing towards affiliates. It was for who they really were.

I think all inactive affiliates. I don't promote bet365 from 5 years , there are no issues about T&C as long I don't promote them anymore. But the message was clear from the beggining: "You will earn commission for life". Those were their words, not ours.

I have 2 active accounts and one inactive. Did not get any notice. Yet.

As for "You will earn commission for life", I remember it's also stated in the Terms that bet365 can change that whenever they want. And pretty much that's the standard T&C.

That's the end of the last honest affiliate program in gambling. So they joined the "unreliable" list, let's hope they will not join soon the "do not work with" list. And to be fair, they were the only ones on my "reliable" list anyway. That's sad and I think it is just the beginning of more trouble.

In my case, I'm waiting for any official news about the inactive account.

Tough news, but not surprising in a maturing affiliate landscape. Legacy rev shares on dormant accounts were always on shaky ground; this marks a shift towards more sustainable, performance-based models. Still, transparency and fair notice matter!

I think with 2 active accounts there are no problems for you. I don't understand why they do this? for what reason? Why now?

The advertisement, “You will generate a lifetime commission,” is a vague concept. The advertisement, “You will generate a lifetime commission,” is a vague concept.
Unfortunately, every company can define “lifetime” in its own way through its terms and conditions, and it’s quite a fluid term. Some people are lucky to live to 80 years old, others don’t even reach 20... In short, “lifetime” means until we change the terms and conditions.

The main and fundamental issue is that the bet365 affiliate program—despite all the challenges, questions, occasional misunderstandings, and changing rules (mostly not their fault)—has been the best I’ve worked with. I don’t want to complain or sound ungrateful—quite the opposite.

Still, instead of this historic decision to end everything, a few kind words or at least an expressed regret over what’s happening would have been appreciated.

We’ve reached the point where AI can write optimized content in advance, based on predicted search intent.

Politicians write “regulations” so that you can live better—along with artificial intelligence...

And not only that — we were trying to create unique, different content that was actually useful for the end user, liked by search engines, and somehow in line with all the unclear and constantly changing rules — just like every political regulation out there (I’m talking about the whole industry here).

Now it all seems easier. AI can predict behavior patterns, search volume, and even adjust if something was missed.

We’ve reached the point where AI can write the “right” content ahead of time — based on what people are expected to search for.

it's just nasty and disappointing – you're no longer needed

You have an interesting list. You do you, but my list is:

    • reliable affiliates
    • thieves with whom I must work, because if I do not, they will take all my past revenue share
    • thieves with whom I do not work

I think this is the way to minimize the damage in this s*** industry.

If this is not some giant misunderstanding on my part and they really throw this nuclear bomb, they will be in a no-go zone for most. The only sane affiliates who will work with them are those who will be forced to by their past revenue share, just as with any other average affiliate program.

If they really do what they say, they will be even worse than mildly predatory affiliate programs that have transparent quotas like 5 NDP / 3 months. For example, even if I had to choose between Bet365 and Unibet now, whose products and geos overlap, I would go with Unibet. With them, I know where I stand; I must deliver some players, and that is it. With Bet365, after all this, nobody knows anything.

Do not forget that the affiliates who are going to be culled did not voluntarily choose to stop promoting Bet365. They were forced to because Bet365 did not want to take the risks associated with excessive compliance. This did not happen elsewhere. What will they do in the future? Will they choose, like Ladbrokes, to close accounts from certain GEOs and then tell them, "Goodbye, you do not promote us anymore"? Will they dislike social media posts? Streaming slots? Posts against the Stoke team? Who knows?

C.G. Jung said one truth about humans: I will not love, because then I am forced to hate. In other words, the higher the expectations, the bigger the disappointment. Bet365 played high stakes with trust; they got it all from affiliates, and the distrust will be that much greater. I even claim that had we been culled by the new owners, the drop in trust would not be as big as it is, being done by the old team.

Bet365 will be on the level of Bwin, Paddy, Ladbrokes, and those other joke affiliate programs, and maybe even worse. Those programs are stupid, but Bet365 is not, which makes all active affiliate accounts a total gamble.
There is no point in promoting them in the future for anyone other than the "slaves" with active accounts, until they are kicked out in the near future (probably after the sale, if they are lucky).

If there are still bookies like 22bet/20bet (I can only speak for sports, but in the casino niche, there are certainly more options) with programs that do not steal and are growing fast, there is no point in promoting Bet365 as a new affiliate. I repeat, Bwin pwned Europe 20 years ago. They stole from everyone, including the biggest affiliates. And then they were gone. They left the space for Bet365, which capitalized on it amazingly. Now, they are walking down the same path.

See the other thread. They did not pay me since January (I was paid in June for December). Yes, they called me.

Got permission to write about the topic, not giving a name. I want to keep it private to reward the courage of the guy. It was one of the OGs.
