We have been discussing this for 100 or more posts in the private section to no avail. I am done reasoning. This member feels there is nothing wrong with what he is doing. I am unable to research everyone he is copying from so please check your site. There are many. Sorry you couldn't find your way to our help Richard.

Here is a dilemma. This private member already hit gambling mojo but I am so stressed, I didn't persue it. Then I found after taking over my sons site that it was happening there as well. Many of you know the situation with my son. His site is Wild Card Casinos.

I pm'd the member here to try to do things right. Yes, I was angry. I gave him a deadline to remove it. Apparently they are under the impression that since it is already in the searches it is up for grabs and didnt appreciate my deadline.

I am of the opinion that the only reason this is done is to steal the traffic from the description etc because it does good in the searches, but with his banner. It certainly isn't done out of the goodness of ones heart lol. Funny thing is, Wild Card Casinos gets very little traffic! He chooses to tap ONE of the FEW pages that does any good. Geez!

So I pm'd him and he didn't like my tone but he took it down. I invited him to go ahead and post it so we could get some feedback from our peers. Now I feel obligated to pass this on because he really doesn't see where he is wrong and he didn't take up my offer to go ahead and post it. I would normally post this publically but since this is a private member I wanted to give the curtesy to explain and because I am unclear on the procedure. I pm universal to have it all on record and he was very receptive and helpful as ever. Thank you Rick and I am going ahead and posting in private. Maybe you guys can help settle this.

Yes, I got pissed off. I really don't want to deal with this! I did not seek this out. I am compelled to pass it on. I believe that if we don't, we are all victims. Not going to win any popularity contests with this but I have to do what I think is right and inform. Maybe I will learn something as well. This person can respond here or not but at least it's fair. Looks like Richards website is written in WordPress.

For me as i look into Mojos printscreens, it looks like the Wordpress program uses Yahoo as search and the results are cached and beeing shown in a webpage starting with the websites title. This is why the url ends with and instead of the whole title.(do not know if WordPress works this way, but saw simular at other WP pages)

To Richard:

If want to know how serious this is find a dictionary and look for the word "plagiarism". Don't have to be a lawyer for this.

Go to google and use the site operator. If you are searching for the brand "Casino City" enter the following in the search box:

The above will provide results of pages with that site with the words casino city on them.

My question is, Why is this person still a private member?

I do not know all the in's and out's however, Obtaining a private membership is under the provision you are reputable and have good business ethics, Is it not?

I would suggest GPWA maybe contacting this person to try and resolve this matter or remove his private membership.

Thanks Mojo, I have been researching a little on some of the domains he listed in his blogs, and many of them are the same kinds of sites.

Wordpress sites using other peoples brands and scrapings from search engines listings on pages with no actual content.

Page names and titles are often 2 brands mixed whether they be someone elses site brands or the casino names.

Some of the sites have general crap from news stories that have been scrapped from sites all over the world.....

Many of the sites have pages numbering in the thousands so it's pretty clear what is happening.

Side note to Michael/Steven, a quick report coming you way.

I meant that as a shot at the bottom feeder and not at GPWA, as its extremely obvious this person is not caring about their conduct or there'd not be such an obvious collection of other people's work on his site.

The whole attitude of "if you find it then I'll remove it" is BS.

I haven't visited his site but based on what Rick has stated (and I've no doubt Rick has an understanding of stolen work as he's helped many people over the years, myself included ) ... so based on what Rick's said ...

The man can't do anything but what he's doing because his entire existence on the net is built of other people's work (or I'd bet at least 95% is others work).

Mojo I fear you've wasted already too much time on giving benefit of doubt. I can't find any foothold at all for this guy.

And not understanding what he's doing is wrong is just outrageous. He's from Wisconsin for pete's sake. Even the most backward 6th grader understands you can't steal other people's writings ... whether in whole or just a few sentences ..

Lets find out who the sponsors are and as a collective ... speak to them about the group's great displeasure of the entire matter and that as we see it the programs which DO NOT REWARD this kind of action by paying any commissions ... are deserving of better positions than the next place which is of equal or near value.

Meaning that if the sponsor is tied with 4 other places you would consider putting in that better spot ... the nod would go to them without any further thought because they showed they were willing to take action to prove they want a better net than the kind this person is willing to sink it to just in order to put somebody else's money in his pocket.

In addition to that, since you have chosen to use the Slot Fever brand in the title and html page name in that page and yet you do NOT have anything on that page except a Sun Palace banner, (which is almost 100% of what this particular site is) you are also infringing on the Slot Fever brand name as well. (I'm sure they will NOT like hearing this)

I now formally request that Mainstreet Group become involved in this as I am sure that they have already had a few complaints about this particular domain.

For anyone else that wants to take a look, (you must do so quickly since now that I caught on to what he is doing he will likely change this later once he sees he has been exposed) some of the complaints that have been filed have been handled differently than others.

In the case of my complaint, instead of removing the page itself, he has edited the html page title to give the appearance that it is a 404 page, but it is not, it's just been edited. What he has done is added the words "Nothing found for" to the totle that was there previously.

The following statement is posted on behalf of Mojo, although I believe she will not be upset that I did so.

I see that you have also done the same thing with at least some of the pages that Gamtrak has asked that you remove, and I also believe the same thing on some of the pages that Michael has asked for removal.

In each of the cases I stated above, you have been given plenty of notice to remove the pages, but you chose instead to edit the page titles thinking we would just let it slide.

The following is my opinion only and therefore should NOT be construed as an indication of the stance by the GPWA or any member thereof.

I have been doing quite a bit of research on some of your websites and besides the fact that I have found you have thousands upon thousands of pages of total and complete crap published on the web, there is a clear indication that thousands of your pages are made up of scrapped content and snippets from pges of your competetors (and thouse that you have supposed called friends here at the GPWA as well as other forums).

You also have code snippets and pieces scrapped from news stories and search results that have absolutly NOTHING to do with the verticle that you are working in.

There is a clear indication that you have taken a small amount of action based upon complaints filed by a few people here, and there is also a clear indication that there are some that you have decided to completly ignore.

At this point, I will no longer ask or request that anyone hold back from the actions that they may want to take against you. Originally I recommended that you be given a chance to answer these complaints, and also some time to remove the pages in question, but you have most certainly given us a view into what kind of websites you plan to continue to build, and how you plan on handling page removal requests.

Scrappers are a serious problem to the internet as a whole, but this case is the most serious infraction of the GPWA code of ethics I have ever seen, there may be others but I hope not to this degree.
