Default Big Bet Poker has decided to close their doors.

I have just received news that Big Bet Poker has decided to close their doors. I have not been made aware of the exact reasons behind it. I have been told that starting from today (3rd January 2011) Big Bet Poker will not be accepting any new signups and deposits.

Players will be allowed to play and withdraw their funds until 31st January.
On 1st of February Big Bet client will be shut down and it will not be possible to login anymore.

    They are solid guys and it will be a shame to see them go. Just received this email from John a few moments ago;

    Dear Big Bet Affiliates,

I want to take this moment to let you know that I am leaving my position as Affiliate Manager at Big Bet Poker.

I have enjoyed my tenure here and I appreciate having had the opportunity to work with you. It has been a great experience and we’ve made a lot of progress.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you again in the near future.

    Best Regards,
    John
I wish John Dang all the best for the future.

I briefly spoke with one of the owners of BBP and basically he confirmed everything is as normal so I guess someone read a little too much into John's email.

    Here is a final email I received from BBP so unless anyone else can shed light on this I guess this is it then;

    Dear xxx,

IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM BIG BET POKER

I am writing today to inform you that Big Bet Poker is closing our poker room for good on Friday, January 31st, 2011.

Over the last two years, we gave poker our best shot but in the end determined that several factors made an early exit from the market the smart choice. We know this comes as a surprise to many of our partners who joined on in the last year and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

As of today, Monday, January 3rd, we are no longer accepting new signups or deposits from players. Existing players will still be able to access their account through the client and either play out current balances or request a withdrawal. The final date players will be able to request a withdrawal will be Friday, January 31st, 2011.

We will make two final Affiliate payments; the first will be on January 10th for December revenues and the final February 10th for January commissions.

If you have a Neteller account registered with us for payout, please contact us with your bank wire or Moneybookers accounts as we have also cancelled our application for this method.

On behalf of John Dang, Affiliate Manager, and myself it's been a pleasure to work with you over the last six months. We thank you greatly for your hard work and great energy as we built Big Bet into the room it is today.

    Sincerely,
    Jay Parcells
    Head of Poker
    and
    Big Bet Poker Team

Seems they can no longer keep up with the market but there are still other poker sites in Merge Gaming Network where there are part of the group.

It is sad, though it is official that as per today we are not accepting any more deposits. Players have until the 31st of this month to withdrawal their funds.

So we are basically giving everyone the opportunity to cash out via the methods available. However, we are still applying the normal terms and conditions for taking out funds. Such as sending documents etc. Your balance has to be a minimum of $30 to be able to cashout.

The affiliates will also be paid.

There is no need to worry or feel unsafe in regards to your balance if you have any. We are taking care of you as usual. The circumstances are different though.

Thank you all for your trust and partnership.

It has also been a pleasure for me to be on the forums with you guys. I have learnt a lot and hope to continue being part of this community.

    Cheers,

    Melanie

    Default BigBet Freerolls

I thought it wierd that i was able to set up two freerolls right after Christmas to encourge players to sign up. This makes me think the decision was either made late or not told to all before it happened.

The best suggestion for Big Bet poker players should immediately withdraw their funds from before the end of the month if they don't want to happen to them the same thing that has happened to the eWallet Xpress players which until at present can not claim their funds.

What happens to players and affiliates that had less than $30 in their accounts?

It's THEIR money and they deserve to be paid the money no matter what the amount is.

Players with <$30 will have to play it up or **** it away. I actually asked if they would be able to transfer funds to another skin but... as BigBet uses private (non-Merge) processing they can't ship funds over to another Merge site.

We can also help out with moving any players affiliates may have had at Big Bet.

And if a player with under $30 wants to play with us, we will reimburse their balance if a screenshot is provided. That will solve the problem of Merge not being able to move funds.
