Can't access Brightshare website

Since about an hour I can't access the Brightshare website. Getting HTTP 500 server failure. Anyone else having this problem?

I just got in within the last hour.

Now that they are expiring sessions quicker, although I have to log in each time I arrive I have seen numbers in the stats each time the past few days....(although they aren't happy numbers for me) at least there are numbers....LOL

down for me too, it happens too many times lately so I am thinking about replacing.

It is now around 24 hours since I reported here my problems with Brigtshare website and links. The website is now accesible but all jackpot factory casino links - text and banner - are still down. No reaction from Brightshare. Wish them a peaceful sabbath weekend.

Sorry to hear you guys are still having issues.

I will now test a few links from different backbones and report back...maybe it is a regional thing for you or a specific backbone or ISP issue.

OK,

My link (which I will post below) works from my servers, but it does NOT work from my home.

My home connection is Road Runner. The tracert has trouble at the 19th hop.
The 18th is 216.87.114.227
The trace does complete it's journey and ends when dwnl.firstwebcasino.com answers.

The trace from my servers is similar although the first part is on a different backbone.

My servers main connection is on Peer1 Backbone and Road Runner is on Level 3 Backbone.

Something else I just noticed.

On the tracert from home Level 3 dumps off the trace to Peer 1 also, so my theory is that Peer 1 has a router that needs a routing table rebuilt, or has developed some other form of issue.

Upon study of the traces once on Peer1's equipment the trace is identical except 10.68.4.130 does not answer and times out from home.

Subsequent traces return the same results each time.

Thanks Rick. So it means, I understand, that Brightshare needs to take some action. I hope they do it fast because it looks really ugly having all over my site links and banners not working.

From my home computer a Jackpot Factory ad could not be seen, but going to the same page from one of my servers I saw a Brightshare ad.

You are correct though, I hope they fix it soon.

This is why I always serve my own banners no matter what.

If anything goes wrong, even if links go bad and I decide to change the links, the creatives will always show.

The HTTP500 error may come from one of our reporting type, that we are checking and searching. Please try clean all temporary files, cookies, and caches on your pc and open a new brower see if it comes back.

Hope we will find the problem soon and this will not happen again.

It is scanadalous that the problem was known to the support, yet no warnings were sent to the affiliates. At least this forum could have been used to inform us.

I had to take BS down on some sites as I do not like visitors experiencing dead links and showing offline banners which makes your portal look bad.

This will not happen again ? I have no problem with a certain downtime but with days in a row you are pushing up to the limits of my acceptance. I have not mentioned the loss of type in traffic from players that could not visit through the affiliate link.

at my site top 10 online slots site you can see an All Jackpots banner is still not showing and has a dead link so something has damaged your database, could you please check this. So what I am trying to say is that although the banners show there is a possibility that some links do not work.

Liyu is working very closely with our IT, Web, DBA, MGS, and JF management to sort out all these issues ASAP. Liyu is really doing her best to make sure ALL the issues are fixed properly.

Honestly Lloyd, as far as the login and stats issues, I am not sure if it is related to the banners and links not working (but that could be a remote posibility)...

It truly looks like some sort of routing issue.

If your techs would like to see some tracert's, just let me know and I'll get a few to them.

I agree with the sentiments though that a quicker response here might have helped reduce a bit of the frustrations.....and may actually lead help the techs find a solution.

Hey Rick,

We have some answers and solutions:

1. The login issue - HTTP 500 - this has been caused by an overkill on the IT side with their new firewall application - this will be fixed by tomorrow.
2. The reporting and login kick out issues - this is related to our sites double login - to Brightshare and the affiliate software. In this case, it's the software that is timing out while affiliates are still logged into the site. We have a solution here too - which will take a few days to get in place.

Great, that takes care of the logins etc....but the banners not showing and links not working depending on what backbone the ISP is on might be a more involved issue.

The results of the tracert's I performed may or may not help the tech staff figure that one out.

This is still going on today.

Since the error returned from following a link on a Road Runner connection is also a 500 Error this could also be related to the firewall.

I hate to see you lose affiliates over trying to make the servers more secure....

I actually stopped doing that because when banners are down in most cases links are too., so I know what is going on.

I have spent a few hours to remove BS from main pages because I was losing out anyway. I leave the dead jackpot banner + link online to see when it is fixed.
