Nothing pisses me off more than when I find out a casino is chasing off perfectly good players that I/affs work so very hard to send, ... all because you morons can't get it thru your thick heads that IF you feel you MUST call your players ... at least get their permission to do so - BEFORE you call !!!
I'm lucky in that my mate knows what I do. But a ton of them out there either don't want their spouse to know, or would prefer they didn't.
These people play at your casino with the understanding that you're suppose to be concerned about their freakin' privacy. All I see when you force yourself upon players by cold calling them ... is freakin' GREED!
Which wouldn't be quite as offensive if you at least were smart enough to do greedy in a competent manner but you freak up something that if you'd just left well enough alone .... would stay left alone to continue in the fashion in which it was already proving to do. That being, gambling.
Imagine how it makes me look when I tell people : oh ya, this is one of the more classy places ... none of that nickel and dime **** with them. Ha!
I signed up yesterday and have made 3 or 4 deposits already. What could possibly be so important you need to contact me already?
Do you really think I would be gambling more ... in the last 36 hours that i have been a member ... if I had been contacted by your people in person?
This isn't exclusive to BCP, a lot of places do it and a lot of them NEVER have bothered to ask the player if they are comfortable with being cold-called.
And no, all your little stat gathering isn't going to show the % of players you have lost or rather i should say, run off, that would still be there if you were smart enough to leave well enough alone.
Geez.
....
Here's a clue.
You will always be a dirty little secret to a portion of your customers. All the phone etiquette and friendly personalities in the world, will not change that fact.
And it shouldn't ever be an issue because you're suppose to be helping your customers, not getting them in trouble with their spouses because you're too apparently stupid to do something as simple as to add a box in the sign up form asking if it is okay to cold call? And make sure you make it clear that it is "cold calling" your asking permission for, because a lot of people would check the box if it said, is it okay if we call you when necessary? that's not cold calling. When its necessary ... people will think that means it could involve a money issue which for each individual, will have a number where they would of course throw out the window, the need to keep it private from their spouse. So make it clear what your intentions are:
I DO recall there is (on most places, perhaps not the BCP properties) where it asks what kind of emails you want to receive, html or otherwise, so you can go to the trouble to ask that: because you know you're going to get your message thru. one way or the other.
Well man-up and come to terms with the fact that people did not have phones installed just so a place that is suppose to be working FOR them, not AGAINST, can contact them whenever they feel they can "encourage" the player to gamble more, and that's regardless of what kind of damn offer you have to make.
The gall of some people/places will never cease to amaze me. What must you be like to those whom are obliged to deal with you? ... at your beck and call, not theirs.
btw: the casino is GrandeVegas (or something like that), I arrived there via a popup ad while visiting onlinevegas, sister site of crazy slots and Go casino.
(This is not the first time I have made a public awareness that this sh#t has got to stop, so no, I don't apologize for calling you morons. You obviously either think you're above making the effort to protect your players privacy better, or you just don't care.
I can't guess which because i cannot wrap my mind around the thinking that it is going to increase retention by cold calling people.
It better be Ed Freakin' McMahan calling for publisher's to drop off a no strings attached small fortune .... if you want to have people being happy to hear from you at times when they are totally not expecting. And you ain't that!
