    Default Compare Bing vs. Google

I get this in my hotmail today:

    http://www.bingiton.com/Landingpage.aspx

I thought it was interesting to see the side my side results and then select which search your prefer.

I ran through it and my results were.

    Google 3 to Bing 2

I am curious to see how others do.

Google won in my "blind test" too. Really close results though.

After using BING for three months now as my personal search, I like it better than google.

The only time I use google now is when I am doing SEO research, but google makes that very hard to do anymore.
Funny how google wants all YOUR site data, but they fight you like hell and block you at every chance, when you try to get data from them.

IMO google sucks.. BING ain't that great but IMO it is better than google.

I find myself using Bing a lot more lately too.

Sadly Bing is not up to the task of search Microsoft's own sites though. Usually when I am looking for tech stuff, I almost always use google since I feel they do a much better job of finding what I am looking for which will often consist of results from Microsoft's own sites. (predominantly Microsoft.com and MSDN)

If an affiliate program is not small affiliate friendly (especially small US Affiliate), then they are NOT Affiliate Friendly!

That is funny, with the current 'search wars' going on, I would have expected that MS would have limited/reduced their site access to googlebot, like FB has.

Yea it is kinda ironic, and I have tried it over and over....

This is especially true of the research I perform on a regular basis on virus and trojan threats.....as well as server and network related research.

Now both engines seem to find stuff in the Microsoft Knowledge base better than the actual knowledgebase search....

Only time will tell if Bing in fact can win back enough marketshare.....

Currently, visiting a Microsoft owned and run comparison site will not change my mind so easily. I happen to be a Microsoft kinda guy and personally (in my own opinion) most of their products (including their server products) are superior to those from other companies.

When it comes to search though, they have a lot of room for improvement.

Prompted by your message, I did a (Google) search for the phrase "is bing it on specific to the usa" and turned up a Microsoft article announcing the campaign. It sounds like the comparison test page might be available only within the United States. Per the article, "[b]eginning today, America can click and choose which Web search results it prefers by participating in the Bing It On Challenge...".

I tried it and my results were 3-Google, 1-Bing, 1-Draw. The comparison made me realize some of the features that I value about Google but don't usually pay a whole lot of attention to.

I don't know about that test.
If you study the SERP, like I do. It is obvious which results are which.
I mean I can tell where the results come from, so for me, it's not really an UN-biased test.

But for a person that does not study the SERP all the time like I do, it would seem to be a fairly good indicator of what results you prefer.

    My results;

    test #1 5 - Google
    test #2 5 - BING

Aggressive estimate is that there are currently 5 million Kindle Fires in use. Even if 75% use the default search browser, it's not enough to really make a huge impact on the overall search market. I don't think anyone needs to change their SEO strategies for Bing / Tablet searches (though I guess it could be a niche market strategy).

    Hi Louis

I agree with you. Just one addition. I think we all should not focus on a specific search engine targeted strategy but USEFUL AND MUST-SHARE CONTENT! right ?
