The best types of advertising?

If you had an advertising budget of between £500 and £1000 a month, where would you invest it? I can only think of Adwords. Any other suggestions or ideas?

What exactly do you want to advertise? I'm sure it may determine your choice or at least give more information to people here regarding giving you the best advice

Buy ad places on relevant websites + invest into your content to get more organic search traffic.

You need to be an expert to make efficient campaigns with good CTRs, otherwise you will just lose your money. You will get paid traffic, but not sure if you get registrations. Good content is a long-term investment.

With that budget? How many clicks do you expect? 100?
$1000 per month is a nice budget for developing content and try to get some trustfully links.

You can allocate some of that budget to adwords or bing ads but since cpc's are very expensive for the keywords in our industry you will have really know what you are doing and how to optimise your campaigns. Even if you are a PPC guru and manage to get QS of 9s and 10s you will still have to pay a premium for good keywords especially if you want to be on top of the page (after the new update). Otherwise like others have advised you will be throwing your money away by getting low converting clicks or just competitors clicks (which is so wrong and so unfair...)

SEO and content might be your best option with that budget

Hi, I dont know whats your experience of adwords and facebook ads, but i was banned from both of them, because as i understand gambling is not allowed to be advertise. They tell me, that i must be a betting company for example betfair and to place an ad, not like affiliate ok, is im right?
So they allow some betting companies to advertise, but with many restrictions. This is my opinion, so i dont know how you advertise there.

Buy books matching your content or niche and write good content.
Content from third parties are good, but there is nothing more fantastic than the own content.
Take the rest of the money for a more relaxed living, so that you have more time for reading and to create such content.

Adwords would be the best place for SEM, problem is that they do not work with Gambling advertisers.. (unless you got the right documents..)

With that budget you can buy 2-3 good, new relevant links from trusted websites per month. The more topical those websites are, the better. It's not always easy to get such links. In addition to that I would agree with most of replies: good and interesting content is the best way.

You can buy some relevant links from some sites which will make your website strong in long run. Regular addition of new content is a must for sites now, so you can invest in links + new content every month.

Adwords, link buying and as other have mentioned, buy good content. I would probably use a mix of all three.
