Hi,

I have some questions relating to on-site content, mainly concerning volume and its possible impact on ranking.

So, for example, I notice that some sites publish slot game reviews and do this in high volume – potentially 1000s of reviews over time. My guess is many of those pages never get direct traffic from google, because people won’t search for an obscure MG title for example.

However, I can see that having all those game reviews could have an impact in another way – e.g. users interested in slots spend more time on your site because they are interested in browsing through the list and checking out games. Hence you get longer time on site and more pages viewed per user. Plus you’d get the re-engagement with return visitors who like your content.

But, on the other hand, if you have 1000s of game reviews, and some never get any impressions, could this be detrimental because Google thinks you are uploading content that is not of interest? – I guess my point is, if 50% of your pages never get traffic, is that a bad thing? Or doesn’t it matter?

My second question is about how much content should you add to your site, and what impact it can have. I know there isn’t really a correct answer here. But could you get it wrong by adding too much too quickly – e.g. would it be seen as spammy to be adding four or five articles per day (news, reviews etc). Even if they are of good quality. And if you go down that route, do you have to maintain that volume indefinltey, or can you pause it without losing credibility.

BTW- I have no intention of adding lots of badly written keyword-stuffed rubbish to try to get ranking quickly. I’m just trying to understand some basic SEO points about the content I’ve noticed other sites doing, the reasons for it and the impact it might have.

Thanks in advance .
