Any time we have had to remove landing pages, we always either redirect them to the homepage of the casino, or to another well converting landing page. I don't see why a casino would want to potentially lose traffic having a host of pages landing on 404s. Doesn't make sense at all to me. We have 10s of thousands of landing pages. If we can do it, anyone can.
I don't understand why some affiliates ask for a link directly to the registration page. There is no sales pitch there, nothing to show the players why they should join, yet so many affiliates ask for it.
Landing pages can be good for specific offers, but IMO the homepage of the casino is mostly going to convert better because it is designed for a player to naturally land on it. If it wasn't the case, casino brands would use landing pages instead of their website to get players via organic traffic.
Just my 2 cents.

Renee,
I agree that as long as the groups think along those lines, and preserve that traffic, then that certainly helps quell the fears of affiliates when considering using specific landing pages.
I can actually understand certain affiliates requesting links to direct signup pages (providing they also link to the home) but that kind of link should most likely only be used on solid review pages and are most effective when they are clearly defined as links that go direct to signup page.
These kinds of discussions are really good as it allows to see some of the reasons why affiliate may or may not choose landing pages and it helps affiliates realize there are other choices to test.

It's not just about 404. I had (i assume we all) that a casino removed the page and redirected to home page - but the bonus I was promoting is not the same. It doesn't mean that it expired, but just not the same exact thing the visitor saw on my site - so naturally the odds of him just signing up are lower.
Just recently a casino pulled off a no deposit+slot bonus I was using. Only few weeks after I've noticed the conversions drop I found the reason. Their reply was that the promotion is still live, but just without the landing page so I shouldn't worry, but that doesn't help, cause the visitors don't see the same thing and get confused.
Regarding Direct Signup page - I don't use it, but the reason is that if you have an extremely deep review then you want to have the most direct process. You don't need the home page as another "sales pitch".

Check OnlineBlackjackExplorer for ratings of the best casinos to play blackjack online. Which games offer the lowest house edge, as well as free blackjack games, live dealer and mobile blackjack sites.
It's almost a full time job keeping on top of all of the offers and bonuses!
For me the offer that you've been communicating needs to be very clear and very easy to find for the prospective player, whether that be on a landing page or home page/deep link. Far too often we receive an email asking us to promote a certain offer with no accompanying landing page/deep link so you're forcing new players to navigate through an unfamiliar site to see what it is you're talking about.
A bit like seeing a big poster outside a shop shouting some fantastic special offer then walking around aimlessly in said shop trying in vain to find it while all of the shop staff do their best to avoid eye contact whilst pretending they're busy.
Of course. I suppose sports books have more of those limited time bonuses. IMO being pushed to the homepage is still better than a 404 in that case. At least then the player has the opportunity to get on live chat to ask what happened to the bonus/offer they saw. There is still the opportunity to keep that player.
Regarding the last part - I'd probably say that about 1% of reviews fall into that category. Just my opinion though.

Co-branded, optimized landing page in my opinion..Ideally with a quick sign up form on the landing page.
Home page for me as well !!
I've started a split test experiment on a couple of my best performing casinos and so far am finding that the homepage is giving the best results. However my traffic is more generic casino traffic, not looking for particular casinos so that needs to be taken into consideration.
Home page no question about that, but this is generally speaking, when it comes to special offers or a tournament, etc'.. best to point to specific landing page
My results at the moment are definitely supporting this ^^
Wow interesting to see people vote home pages. I always banked on landing pages for bonus deals.

The logic is quite simple, the home page is the most updated page and the most invested one, many eyes always watching it from the operator side making sure everything is smooth.
Without disrespect to landing pages, which are one of the most powerful tools when it comes to targeting specific audience and improve the conversion, the problem is that in order to make sure landing page will work as expected it has to be designed properly and most of the time it's not...

I just done some tests.. and the results were massively different, i think the lack of info on LP's causes many players to click away, the test I just ran we achieved 5 times more sign ups and deposits using homepage over landing I think the lack of info LP's have are a turn off, visitors are a lot more careful about who they sign up with these days, they want all the ins and outs before making a decision, with my traffic anyhow.. cashout values, and rollovers make a big difference to whether a deposit comes in or not..
I think LP's have their place for bonus hunters, or first time players.. but regular players demand more info, usually the reason they are looking for a new program in the first place.
To expand on this question; would be really interesting to know what conversion percentages people are experiencing?
For me it depends what traffic do you send to which brand.
e.g. my german novonline traffic converting with bit less then 10% (Unique clicks to FTD)
On the other hand i get good ratio of free signups but no single FTD with Gday in Germany.
