    Default CPA vs. Rev share

I know that this topic has been discussed before but I want to hear some opinions. I know must people use for most of the sites Rev Share but I'm trying to find in which cases is better to use CPA. I don't have experience in this topic because I'm new in this and I'm still learning. I want to know member opinions about this.

USA Programs = CPA to be safe.
European brands = Rev share is good.

What I like to do is test "Hybrid" deals where you get a combination of both. Until you know what your traffic is like I think its best to do Hybrids.
Then later after you analyze results you cam work a solution with the program to fit both your needs.

Rev share is always best with long term players - but in this industry i think its good not to jump in right away - make sure its a decent program that can convert your traffic. They can offer you all kinds of high end CPAs then turn out and not pay you.

    Good luck

I have one site dedicated to UFC and since most of the events are monthly I think I will try CPA

I generally go for Rev share deals, but CPA sounds okay too if you keep getting small players. Maybe its a good idea to have a mixture of both CPA and Rev share

I would strongly suggest going rev share if you are pushing UFC, now they have the deal with FOX the event will be much more regular plus they are now having cards almost every two weeks and as they move to countries this will increase, plus the chances of players winning in UFC is very low.

Think about it for a player to make any real money you need to name fighter, round and how he will win other than that the odds are pretty low.

In my view a sportsbook affiliate that has good steady traffic should always go with rev share just simply do some check on the program before you starting pumping your traffic.

    Good luck.

I'll join in with what most people are saying here - rev share, all the way!

Certainly depends on the quality of traffic you are sending to the affiliate programs. If one of your operators is offering a free bet then CPA can be beneficial because there is a good chance your traffic will avail of the free bet and trigger your bounty.

On the other hand if you are sending high quality players, revenue share will be more lucrative in the long term, especially if the operator is offering Life Time RS

Best of luck with your website!!

Going by my own stats, overall I would have earned significantly less with CPA than rev share. So I would say rev share is better in the long run.

Having said that, I think there is a strong argument for occasions when small affiliates would be better off taking CPA's - particularly when the program has unfriendly terms such as quotas, NCO and bundling. And like GFPC said, there is always the risk with US facing programs that the rug is going to get pulled from beneath your feet.

Revshare 100% unless I can get a hybrid deal. If you are in it for the long haul rev share is the best as it keeps on giving. Be sure to work with reputable programs though, too many times you see what appeared to be a cash cow go sour. Always do your research before agreeing to promote a brand.

An affiliate I work with once had a player drop over $500,000 in a single month on a popular international betting brand. He was on a rev-share deal.

Imagine if you had taken a CPA on that player.

We offer a hybrid deal to start and then revise the terms to better fit each affiliate's traffic sources and preferences. If an affiliate in our program refers a high number of low-value players, we will suggest they tip the scales towards CPA. Conversely, if they end up sending just a handful of high-stakes players, we recommend going further towards revenue share. Ultimately, it's up to the affiliate and how they wish to monetize the type of players they send our way.

Totally agree with what everyone is saying in regards to Rev share. I mean i have seen some pretty nice deposits in the thousands and you know those are going to be huge money makers over the year/s. Love those - live for those - it keeps you going

But I think as I said earlier rev share is not always the answer and to say 100% rev share is great and all - but I think its better to add that they make sure its a totally reputable outfit and to make sure the long term value of the player will be paid.

Without that advise you may potentially be giving unsound advice. Lets say for example we talk about US programs - that are closing down each week/month. Are you saying he should push US facing poker sites, casinos always on rev share 100% of the time? What if he sends a couple of hundred depositors, and then 3 months from now the program closes down? Then what? - he loses his whole base.

Majority of US affiliates who push poker at least are all on CPA for the most part. You have to be joking if you encourage an affiliate with this industry to push rev share on US facing brands.

Hybrids are much better in that you can work together with the Program to tailor your needs as well as theirs. Even if starting out for 3-6 months on a Hybrid - to est traffic levels - its much sounder advice. Then later he can work with AM to change the deal to remove the Hybrid and go strictly rev share.

I agree Rev Share is HUGE - especially when your around 40-45% and you see players depositing thousands and raking $500 per day each and you have a dozen of them. BUt its not always like that with each program.

Some programs who have very weak retention its better to be on CPA at least to start - until you see your player value and gain trust in the program...

Better to give solid advice then to say its 100% one way and no other way is worth while. From what i gather he is a new affiliate and needs to understand the risks of both models.

In order to help him the most its best to go through all kinds of different scenarios until he is well versed with the industry.

Bottom line - Rev share is always best when you have complete trust the program will be online for many years to come and will not enter predatory terms and become rogue. Programs with great retention and support with a long history of paying affiliates. And also when player value is great.

CPA - Use this model if you need faster cash flow to funnel back into your business - and need the funds immediately to invest - also when programs you do not think will last - such as US facing brands right now - better to be safe then sorry. They are closing shop day by day - protect yourself. Take Players Only as an example and several Rivals..
Programs you really do not trust and think they are SHAVING - always CPA.

Hybrids - Negotiate with AM - develop a relationship - test the waters. Figure out between the two of you whats better for each of you. Hybrids will allow you to make a little of both and test out how the room is doing - you can evaluate the player value and still make some immediate earnings fast to funnel back to your site. As you get stronger and more financially secure you can alter it to a high end revshare deal with a simple tracker change. And still get the lower rev share on existing players.

I think you need a combination of all to really see for yourself what programs fit better in each model and so forth. Believe in you gut feeling!!! Take advice yes but never think one way is 100% the best way - that is to closed minded.

Ok best of luck mate - wish you lots of success
