As the price of tablets have dropped, they are becoming increasingly common as web browsing devices by the general public. Increasingly, the audience for affiliates and operators is using tablets and smart phones. I've been thinking I should get a tablet for a while, if for no other reason than to have a sense of what it is like to be a consumer using one. Taking the leap of actually owning one proved to be a very simple decision to me. I won a Galaxy Note 4 at the SiGMA conference just over a week ago in Malta (thank you anna partners).
To me, it appears the tablet marketplace is growing, but still pretty small. For the GPWA website, hardly anyone uses tablets (2.2% in the past month). But our audience is webmasters, and webmasters are definitely not using tablets as the power platform for their work. The consumer-oriented sites I'm involved with all have over 10% of their traffic on tablets. Smaller than mobile, but growing.
Besides answering the poll question about whether you own a tablet computer, share your views of tablet devices, and the role you think they currently play in the marketplace and how you think that will evolve over time.
