Exclusive Code Stealers!

[mojo]

I work hard to get exclusives for my sites. Some come in the form of codes. They get stolen all the time. I'm gathering the offenders to post here and Name and Shame! If someone posts a code at our forum that belongs to someone else we REMOVE it.

The OP stated it was from another forum. That would be ours. Why would a forum allow my code to be used? Why don't they get their OWN code. But instead they post their own banner.

Then a mod re-posted it!

Does this happen to you? Am I losing players to this? Of course. It makes me compete with my own code in the searches! There is no excuse, forum owners know better.

One nice thing is that some players report it to me. TY. I see the same happen to other hard working affiliates and it needs to be addressed.

Sending a pm before naming and shaming!

Hi Mojo,

Sorry to hear about the bullshit.

Can you explain to me hun what kind of code your talking about, and how do you get it? Is this something i should be getting for my places? what do they do?? so many questions, and no answers! lol

WHen you have a sec, can you tell me all about this stuff, so maybe i can start looking into this area of marketing?

Thanks
Pat

[aksana]

Sorry to hear about that, Mojo. As I understand they stole your html or css code, am I right?

[mojo]

This is for exclusive player offers that many webmasters offer to their players. A higher deposit bonus or something like that. I work with casinos to see if there is anything they can offer me to help me brand Mojo and in return I promote them more and give them better position. Casinos will also make landing pages for you.

You've seen this Pat. A specific code for a free chip or something from a specific site. These codes can only be found at the affilaites site that has worked to offer it.

Note: It's not unusal for casinos to reject your request and I've been rejected my fair share lol.

After all that, someone else will go to your site and take your exclusive code and market it. Knowing it's exclusive and they did not work for it. Then when I google it, there they are competing with me!

It is content theft.

[aksana]

Yes, understand you, Mojo. Have you already contacted him/her?

Yes. The case above is a private member here.

There are more sites that do this but I havn't persued it enough. I will be now and also reporting to programs. It is unethical and theft. When I see mine, I also see other affiliates that are getting pilfered.

[giggles7p]

Are they changing the code to put their own affiliate links in them, or are they using your code and link? if there using your link, then thats just more business for you correct? even though that would be pretty stupid of them, so i am taking that they are actually inserting their link in your code?

Get the machine gun out and lets go hunting! LOLLL

[Dominique]

I don't get it - these specials are usually only good if your exact code is used, and if others publish it, you get all of the players who use it?

So you win and they lose?

[mojo]

No, it works like this,

For example I have a casino code 'mojocode' that players can use that offer a special that was approved for me by the casino. Whether a free chip or bonus offer.

I advertise the codes on my sites. Clearly adverting as exclusive.

Some codes are hard coded to come from my banner only. Some are not. So I have an exclusive at xyz casino that is not hard coded. Another affiliate advertises my code and simply uses their own banner. In order to get that code they would have to go to my site and steal it. Simple theft. The code usually has 'mojo' in it lol.

Also, sometimes the code will not work. And even if it is hard coded, it doesn't stop other webmasters from stealing it anyway. Naturally in this case the code will not work but the webmaster has lured them into signing up from their banner. Then I get complaints.

Then I look at google and see them all there.

[GamTrak]

This has happened to me more times than I can list.

Folks use to steal my bingo codes monthly and post them at different forums. After awhile I just didn't bother addressing it due to the time it takes and the fact that it's repeated.

I always have 'gamtrak' as part of my codes so that it's easy to spot. So who did this mojo?

[mojo]

Happens all the time! I'll keep an extra eye out for you GT and report it to you.

I won't name the private member yet but here is another site that has done this twice to me so far and I have written with no luck..

No idea who they are.

I have contacted the affiliate and pointed them to this thread (account has also been suspended).

Hope it gets sorted for you

Cheers

You're amazing Renee! It's a tough battle fighting this stuff and like GamTrak said it's hard to find the time.

I think it's gotten to the point where I will find the time to hunt them down.

Your help is very much appriciated and you have saved me lots of frustration! I hope it is also an example to those that want to steal from others rather than do the work themselves.

No probs at all

Hope it helps!

That was really fast Miss Renee. Although mojo can actually sue that member for content theft or like copyright infringement, banning him/her would sure do a good lesson.

[AE-Martyn]

Just so that you know, any codes issued by CWC can only be claimed if the player uses your affiliate links also.

So the affiliate promoting your codes on other sites using their own link will have some unhappy customers to deal with - as will we but they will soon learn.

This code is a unique promotion for a certain forum and is only for people who download from that forum.
The administrator of this place steals codes and passes them off as “for everyone” in order that you will download from his banners and receive credit. Be advised that he is making money from your greed.

Ok I think MOJO25 this is your code
If yes, look "mojo25 bogartcasino" in google

We are not stealers like You all are saying about us
Our website 1.8 year in the web and we get bonuses from other open forums and some bonuses send from our users, we check it every day, and where no letter which you sent

Only Renee gave me a link to your post

Your sites, I saw only today in this forum

Contact me and stop thinking that we are bad guys
Good Luck

P.s Thank you Renee, but just before making a decision you need to understand the situation

[mojo]

Thank you for your reply Sydney.

I did try to contact you and my casino rep did also. Why you didn't receive it I don't know.

It doesn't matter if you got a mail or not. Why do I have to chase you down and mail you in the first place?

You didn't answer why you are using my exclusive code? Did you not research it when you saw it in google? I think what you do is google a casino and see what codes are there but you don't actually visit the site to see the details and rules.

If you had an exclusive code I would not use it on my sites.

[GamTrak]

Hi Sydney, Welcome to GPWA.

I'm a bit confused by your post. Did mojo accuse you (name you and your site) as thieves? I know that I certainly haven't accused anyone of stealing codes. I know that members visit different forums and will post codes all the time.

I like the way CWC-Martyn does it. In the future I will only do promotions where I'm credited according to the chip being redeemed by new players only.

Well, perhaps your intentions are not bad, but you cannot use codes that are issued for other affiliates. That's a no-no.

You need to go and get your own codes.

Please stop trying to profit from the hard work of others, do your own work.
