Gambling is a bigger threat to sport than dope

Interesting - although pretty weak ...

Professional sportsmen and women face having to register every bet they make under stringent reforms intended to root out corrupt gambling.

Really? They think it's sports peoples personal bets causing issues?

I do know of one group of 3rd division footballers that would bet quite big on the opponents having the first throw in ... and then try to make it happen.

It came to light about 4 years ago. They won the toss - decided to kickoff - and lumped it straight into touch and laughed ...


other than that I'm not aware of mainstream sports being affected.

Though the recent Weymouth debacle would not have helped either, its that sort of thing that winds the authorities up

But personally thought it was a wonderful sting
