    http://www.searchenginegenie.com/goo...date-list.html

that shows history of when pagerank has been updated.

3 months I would say is the norm but you can see from the link above it sometimes goes 4 months and sometime only 2.

Google does seem to like to do these updates around holidays and weekends...last year around 4th of july, halloween and New years eve.

Guessing when the next one will occur and waiting for it is a waste of time...even if you could guess it what could you gain from this knowledge? Keep building and doing. The updates will happen when they happen.

I imagine it will come around at Easter this time.
I have been doing (A LOT!) of link building for various sites since the last one, so I am looking forward to seeing if I get some rewards.
    Fingers crossed!

The last PR update was December last year. But it doesn't exactly takes about 3 to 4 months for Google to update specially now that Google do a lot of change in terms of their algorithm.

These days Google updates on an ongoing basis. I'm sure they still do their big updates every quarter or so but I don't get excited about it.

I think we should all be working on our sites every day - not just when we think the updates are getting close. SEO is an ongoing process!

I'll be very happy when they finally drop visible PR completely...

Me as well. I'm still amazed though at how many still think that it's all about PR .

Is there any reliable evidence that the traffic volume of a site is directly related to PR? I am asking this because I have come across many sites with no PR but lots of traffic.

In my experience, I would say no. SE rankings and PR are not related. I receive more visits to some of my PR0 pages than I do to my home page due to SE rank.

For example, one of my review pages (PR0) is Google.com ranked #3 for the poker room name. This page receives far more search engine traffic than my home page.

Terry, this is also my experience.

I dont give much value in PR now, I concentrate on my keywords SERPs and website traffic.

I believe PR still works, but that is only one of the factors in Googles Algorithm.

Building Backlinks, choice of keywords, online content etc all contribute to your overall ranking in the search engines. When you have all of these I believe then the next step to becoming #1 for your keywords is PR. Usually you will find that PR comes after you have built backlinks, and are getting more and more traffic anyway.
