How is Google Plus doing lately? I find it very helpful and user friendly. In fact, many features of Google+ are also been included in Facebook. Is there going to be a fierce competition among the two? What do you guys and gals out there say?

Google+ is a lemon - IMO - the REAL uptake seems close to zero amongst my contacts and colleagues.
People might actually set up a Google+ account but they are not using it daily - or even weekly it seems.
Like most of Google's new toys - it comes out with a whiz-bang piece of hype but quickly gets left at the back of the closet.
Here is an off the cuff good rating.
Google for search = Great
Google Analytics = Good
Google Earth / Street View = Useful.
Google Chrome = becoming unstable
Google for anything else? Awful.
Google is great for webtraffic and search - but everything else feels like a clunky bolt-on.

Until I get banned for posting gambling material I am using it for linking purposes. I know many do it as well, but many have been banned already as well. Nobody that I know uses it. Most that I see have left it to "....... set up a profile picture" and that's about it.
big thumbs down.. 2 big thumbs down.
Personally, I think they're too late. Everyone's that's into that kind of stuff is already committed to FB.
To be honest, every time I login i get confused so I dont bother. I'm pretty nerdy so maybe they just have a **** UI.
I dont like the fact that people can add you without you giving them permission.

I use it every day and as for me, it has picked up a bit over the last few months. It's nothing compared to facebook though but I like the setup enough to keep posting.
It's telling that I get an email from Google for other Google+ers that I might know and want to add, and the last time any of them posted anything to Google+ was August 2011...

As it seems , it's not what they ( Google ) expected ... But as for me I believe that they might try to force us to use it .
How will they do that ? What ever tool they give us for free , we will have to use it only if we use Google+ . even YouTube .
They look at FB and see how much money they make and they want as well !
But maybe not ... It may cause a huge effect that might lead to great anger on Google ... We will all know in the next months , wont we ?
Last time I was there it was just me and some tumbleweed
I'm online everyday, use Gmail all day, use Google Apps for all my work emails, Google Analytics daily, Google Docs to record information I dont want to lose if I lose my laptop, Google Calendar to manage my schedule... Google has some great products that have seriously improved how I work but I have not once been remotely keen to even load up Google + and I dont know why.
Maybe because I know its just another social network... it doesnt matter if its designed from the ground up, completely unique and technically better than any other social network. The concept is not new, very few (if any) of my contacts will be there and it will only appeal to a minority audience (techies) who will all feel more compelled to load up FB as thats where the action is. I feel harsh writing these words as I havent checked it out and dont really know but this is my opinion right now. Maybe I am wrong and things will change.

I think this year it will be pushed and forced on users more, so from a company point of view i think it pays to have a profile but as for seo i think it will pay a factor with social single e.g. plus like facebook like may affect your ranking in serp's but will have to wait and see. We havent done anything with our page yet as we were frightened we might get banned due to gambling related content but will look more into it soon

Google plus needs some revision. Its basically a social network for Google employees. They are to late to the market with this. The only real users are again google employees and webmasters.

I think it's the Esperanto of social media. When it launched the people I knew who came there were programmers or online marketers, hard core online folk. Since nobody uses it, it sucks and it sucks because nobody uses it. It might gain traction on google, letting people +1 a search result or ad, but that's just a glorified "thumbs up" and not a social interaction.

I tried a lot have waisted many hours buy no out put came. every one is busy on facebook.
In our group we have an opinion, that Google Plus is used only by Google employee. Whatever you look at, you can see 1k+ FB likes and 1-10 Google pluses.
