    Default Had a fun holiday

    hello my gpwa friends

I had a great holiday from the affiliate work and it really helped me get back into the groove of things. I decided to take a break and get myself back in shape. I lost over 35 pounds in 2 months and a total of 43 pounds in a 3 month period. I feel amazing now and would recommend to anybody who is over weight or feeling down to take a break because the feeling of feeling energetic and refreshed is worth more than any $$ amount. You get more done with a fresh clear head.

I found myself getting really pissed off on a daily basis when coming to the gpwa forum because of all the negative posts etc and I although I have come back to read some more negative posts , I look at them in a totally different light. I feel more now like every job is gonna have issues and ours is no different. I use to feel the weight of the entire business on my shoulders and got very over whelmed with each and every visit here to gpwa. I know many affiliates also feel this and I would like to give A single piece of advice....

Take a break , step back and let others help carry the load. Go have some fun, the affiliates and the industry will be here when you get back.

My body is aching for a break but my mind says I need to work. There's a war going on within me dictating me what to do. Hmmmm.. How do you take a break without thinking about work and go to work without thinking for a break?

Good effort that pumacat. Boy, I need a holiday too. Three and a half years and counting since my last proper time off. Definitely

Precisely what's stopping me taking a break. I take the odd day off, away from my desk, but the phone and laptop are never far away and permanently on!

That's really great losing all that weight in such a short amount of time. Congrats! I am currently on a mission to lose the desk job weight I put on over the last year or two. I want to lose 40 pounds or so.

I'm glad you were able to take some time off to recharge the batteries and clear your head. It's amazing how perspectives can change after taking even a short break away from work. It's like your eyes can see clearly again and you have new motivation for your work.

I want a break as well but cannot stand the idea of neglecting the websites for more than just the weekend. (I can't even stay away completely then either) You work so hard to build up traffic and i'm afraid if I don't keep adding content daily that things will go backwards and all the work so far will be lost.

Anyone else feel like this so they just forget about taking any kind of holiday?

i would have to agree with Pumacat on this one, you should let your self to relax and enjoy what is going around you. i have this friend, who is a webmaster and had a fine business going, some time later his business faced a really bad phase and my friend as well, then i took him out for a few days for clubbing and hanging out and just relax.. and i guess now he doing fine as well as his business.

I have to say that I don't like to be away from the office for more than a few days at a time even though I have a blackberry because it's always when you're away that **** hits the fan.

The last real holiday I had was back in 2007. I actually went away for 3 weeks. Although I thought about work the whole time. I'm planning a holiday for 2 weeks at the end of the year. It will be the third holiday I've ever had. Talk about workaholic.

All good advice and totally understandable for some not to be able to take the time off. However I felt that the time off would be more of a benefit than not. I feel great now. Sometimes a weekend is simply not enough time. But Renee hit it dead on when she said thats when **** hits the fan. Its so true.

Great advice. I try to make some time each day for chilling out, playing with the kids, doing some gardening, etc. Life's just too short!
