Question Have you received a Google Search Console Team HTTPS form warning email?

Google is continuing its march to prod webmasters to switch to using HTTPS. It's latest move includes sending email messages to users of Google Search Console. Here is an example of a message sent by Google:

    To owner of <site url>,

Starting October 2017, Chrome (version 62) will show a “NOT SECURE” warning when users enter text in a form on an HTTP page, and for all HTTP pages in Incognito mode.

The following URLs on your site include text input fields (such as < input type="text" > or < input type="email" >) that will trigger the new Chrome warning. Review these examples to see where these warnings will appear, so that you can take action to help protect users’ data. This list is not exhaustive.

    <sample url>

The new warning is part of a long term plan to mark all pages served over HTTP as “not secure”.

Here’s how to fix this problem:

    Migrate to HTTPS
To prevent the “Not Secure” notification from appearing when Chrome users visit your site, only collect user input data on pages served using HTTPS.

Personally, I received 11 such messages this past Thursday, 17 August 2017. Previously I've seen similar messages for credit cards and passwords, but not for form fields that don't obviously contain information where security is important.

In addition to answering the poll regarding whether or not you have received such messages, be sure to comment on your general view of converting sites to https and your future plans on that front.

I haven't received an email yet and am not looking forward to changing my site over to https:// but I guess that I'll have to do it sooner or later.

I was nervous about switching, but it was dead easy in the end.

Yes i have receive one way back in January. It was because of the forum section which required registration.

I made the switch it was no biggie, the domain was registered in September 2016 so there weren't many links pointing to it.

Not yet. However, I did get something extremely similar from my domain provider (and hosting provider at the time) about 1 year ago, and they were talking about chrome as well. I guess it`s the trend and sooner or later we`ll have to adapt, but I wouldn`t worry right now.

    Already changed everything to https.
Was super easy. And there is a time we all have to do it.
So in my opinion, the sooner the better

I switched a few months ago, it actually went much easier than I expected.
I think for all of those who are still wondering if they should do it or not - I would say do it as soon as possible. It doesn't take much work and in the end, you can only benefit from it.
