In this weeks poll we ask if you have stopped using Google Universal Analytics as an analytics platform, because soon it will not longer process new data.
Just over three months ago, we asked members:
What are your Google Analytics 4 migration plans?
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is the successor to Google Universal Analytics (UA).
At the time 50% of members said they had completed migrating from UA to GA4, 20% stated they planned to let Google perform an auto-migration, 20% said they either stopped using or never used UA, and 10% selected "Other."
Hopefully everyone has stopped using UA by now. But, if you have not, perhaps this poll is the final reminder you need.

I have to migrate the rest of my sites. I saw we only have until July 1 2023.

I haven't uninstalled yet, but I no longer use GA4.
For affiliate sites it totally doesn't make sense. In fact, it is an unnecessary burden on the site for meaningless information from which nothing comes.
I can understand for sales pages and in certain situations. However, these are certainly not affiliate sites.
I, for one, need to know what traffic is on my site, where this traffic is coming from, to what keywords and subpages, from what locations it is coming from and how much time it spends on the site.
For such functions there are lighter solutions for the site than GA4

Frankly, I haven't used it for years. Overkill fits well.
When had I 30+ sites, it made sense to use it. But 1 site, I can get everything I need from awstats, and raw log files if needed. Plus, I have other stuff tracking every visitor (no not a wp plugin), and blocks those who are up to no good, including fake SE bots etc., etc.
Something GA didn't do.

Agree that GUA is overkill for a single site, AWStats is also a good tool for tracking website traffic and it's free.
