Hosting for gambling website

Due to current legislation changes, I would like to move my hosting from my country of residence, just to be on the safe side. I was wondering if you guys can recommend a good, secure hosting for gambling websites (specifically sportsbetting).

What about GoDaddy, I noticed some betting websites use that?

Go Daddy. Not the best customer service and it's more expensive than it seems at the first sight, but they're gambling friendly and their products are ok.

I was with Go Daddy, but found there servers slow and even though their Ads on TV have support people from the UK. You phone up there support line only to ever get an American. took forever for them to answer and they were not great. Now use tsohost, they are quicker and their support is second to none very quick response times and helpful

I have a host9 reseller account, useful if you want sites on multiple IPs as well as a VPS on vultr and digitalocean

Wouldn't go with godaddy, for sure if your sites are registered there.

Don't forget that you need to consider the countries you wish to target.

Also, if your main target is Romania, might be that moving your server away might effect your rankings there. I am not sure since when I moved servers it was in the same country, but maybe other members can give more info on that.

That might indeed effect your rankings, but having your server in Romania means an obligation to have a costful license or perhaps face legal problems, so I understand why he takes that for granted and want his server outside Romania. Anyway, a lot of Romanians are living abroad.

I hosted with GoDaddy once. The site always loaded very slowly.

Hell, I tried to post a short, concise topic but I guess I should have mentioned:

- I want 24/7 e-mail support
- Need help with moving
- I am aware hosting impacts rankings. Triple7 nailed it.

Thanks guys, great answers. Definitely something to think about. I will keep thinking about this, maybe hear some other messages and come back with questions / my decisions. Cheers!

I doubt server location has much effect on Google rankings, especially with modern cloud based solutions. I have zero data to prove this, but recall(and quickly Googled) that this was the stance Google is telling us. Whether true or not is another matter. I wonder if it would be best to host in countries with proper gaming licenses.

Google rarely (never?) tells the truth. They are just saying what they would like to be the truth, spreading fear so that webmasters willingly align to what suits the Google algorithm and Google's desires. Sure, it's not such a big deal, if you have a healthy website id doesn't matter too much, but it DOES have a sensible effect on rankings.

I am pretty sure that the server location effects your ranking, it also makes sense that UK oriented site would be in UK, etc. Of course it's not necessary, but just another parameter.

The internet is "supposed" to be a global economy and it "shouldn't" matter where you host your site and any business "should" have a fair shot at the same traffic in any country no matter what country you are hosted in....

But it is Google and they will do what they want when they want regardless of what they say, and if everyone catches on to what they are doing, no problem they will change it.

I think it's the first time i disagree with you

, but to me it actually makes sense that hosting should give benefit in certain market, same as the url. I mean .fr has higher chance to serve french citizens than .uk. Same with hosting location.

Personally, when I search for local stuff, I tend to pay more attention to sites with "my" extension.

I don't mean that it's extremely important, just one small parameters.

In this specific case, I would expect that moving the site outside of the target market will cause some temporary decrease in traffic.

You can set your website GEOlocation in GWT. I highly doubt the location has any bearing on rankings (as long as it's fast). I've certainly never seen evidence to suggest so

For all practical purposes, server location is to be ignored, and you ought to choose the best server on the continent where your visitors are. And then add a CDN on top of it.

I agree Dan.

Whether Google gives more credit to people who host within the country they target is often debated, but if they are, that means that Google would be giving clients of US Based Web Hosts preferential treatment and traffic.

How is that fair to web hosts in every single other country on the planet?
