The hosting location matters but not even close to the lang tags, WMT settings and the ref domains locations - that would geo target your site, as for the hosting services I really love Vidahost, very good customer service.

Really only one option for Gambling Hosting, in my opinion, and that is to host with CuracaoWebhosting.com. The business has been set up to deal with casino hosting in a jurisdiction that is friendly towards gambling endeavors (and with strict privacy laws). Our entire infrastructure is hosted from the location and managed by them. While we are a relatively large organisation, they host a plethora of small start up casinos.

The costs are higher than it would be to host a site in the US or the UK as BW is not cheap, however with a little ingenuity, you can get around this by using CDN / CloudFlare / Caching / Zipping etc.

A number of BitCoin casinos host there too and on average you will pay 29 EUR per month for a starter package (we build our client websites on those packages with great results).

That's called self promotion and should come with a disclaimer.

And you are wrong - there is a huge difference between hosting a casino vs. a review site. The OP is not a gambling operator and can host on pretty much every hosting in the world.

It is possible to host outside of a jurisdiction and get pretty decent speeds. If you use a CDN, CloudFlare, TreeShake your code, minify your code and gzip your files... you end up with a tiny amount of data that needs to be delivered from the actual server.

Depends all on your website, targeted jurisdiction, budget, etc.

Hosting a simple HTML website, with hundreds of visitors and targeting, for example, Sweden is totally another thing than a heavy website, thousands of visitors and targeting the US. Also, it matters if you want to spend a few bucks a month or more.

In general, I would say that Gandi is a good option. If you want to be more sure about privacy, register it as a private person. Private persons do have more privacy than companies. Go Daddy isn't bad neither.

Personally I recommend Siteground. Tried a dozen before someone tipped me to use them. Just 2 levels above the rest. Their support is simply amazing, especially for someone who is not a programmer and need some assistance now and then.

I was hosting with them in the past. But i feel their level of support decreased a lot in recent years. you need to wait 30 minutes just to get an answer and even then, they don't really have any knowledge to actually help.

Where are you currently licensed, where are you currently hosted?

If you are running an affiliate site, then pick a hosting provider in terms of cost/quality.

Our business focuses on Gambling Webhosting, however, we may not be a suitable fit in terms of price and location. Happy to advise where we can though.

my take on mentioned hosting services:

Hostgator - they specifically list Gambling related sites in their "unacceptable materials" list http://prntscr.com/ihrtk7

Godaddy - terrible performance and security, even worse customer service

Bluehost - also forbids gambling content, I have seen multiple suspended account of affiliates before, just like this http://prntscr.com/ihrvu1

Siteground - My absolute favourite, gambling content friendly (confirmed with multiple of their sales & support member of staff). Fast, secure and scalable and well-trained support always on hand in minutes via live chat.

We also use DigitalOcean VPS servers, they offer awesome speed and flexibility but if you are not comfortable using server console command then you gonna miss the user-friendly cpanel which they don't offer out of the box.
