I can only answer for SEO affiliation.
Like somebody else said "24h is not enough" after a while. After some time you might have built a network of sites and have more than 50 brands you deliver traffic to.
Some of the things that takes a lot of time for us are:
    - Keeping your content up to date on all sites on a regular basis.
    - Technical optimization on sites.
    - Staying in touch with Affiliate managers to make sure they work on retention for your players.
    - Negotiating deals for top positions.
    - SEO research and basic work (this is the most time consuming activity).
    - Paying invoices and making sure we get paid from all our account.

The really good thing is that you can manage your time as an affiliate. I personally have a family with small kids so I work from 9-16, play with the kids between 16-21 and then continue working from 21 to midnight.

I would say affiliation is hard work, especially if you want to scale up and build something bigger. However it gives you a lot of freedom.

With you the best of luck with your projects!
