I don't spend nearly enough time on social media, something I really have to address. Actually I don't even use these sites personally never mind in any substantial way professionally. I guess I'm from a generation/social demographic that really doesn't appreciate social media. Every time I look at friends pages I see posts about what they've just eaten and I sigh and close the page.

Coincidentally I'm actually in the process of building a working plan into my daily routine to ensure I don't ignore social media as I'm inclined to do.

My philosophy on social media is think about first entertaining, then selling.

FB business pages are no longer useful as now they make you pay for posts in order to reach people that have already liked your page. whats that about??

So thanks to social media where it keeps us connected and whats more than we get a platform to share every good memories. I prefer to both personal and work related use. Personally I would even love to close my fb account, I am just not into it as I used to be in the beginning and can very well live without it. As a webmaster though you just have to use all those social media sites in order to promote your sites. I have a website (very niche) where my fb fanpage grew to 10k fans and it is generating a whole lot of traffic, so yeah, it really makes sense.
