    Default Italy's online gaming sector continues to grow

    * Online tournament poker in October up 27.3 percent at Euro 7 million with Pokerstars leading the operators with a 67.5 market share;

    * Online poker cash games up 3.4 percent at Euro 6 million, again with Pokerstars dominant ona market share of 43 percent;

    That's really great news for Italy! I just wish that this would be the case more and more throughout the world. Especially more for the United States of America.

    The France should take example.
    But no, she continues to ban online casinos and lose webmasters who will work elsewhere!

    I'm happy for Italy. I hope other countries wake up and follow suit.

    All countries will regulate permanently the gaming industry. Grey markets will no longer be easy to find.

    The tax in Italy makes it a non-profitable market in regards to getting players via affiliates. I don't know what other groups are doing, but we had to make the decision to not accept Italian traffic through affiliates for this reason.

    The bonus terms that have to be adhered to are also atrocious. Bonuses can't be withdrawn, but wagering requirements can only be 1x. So makes it not worth giving a bonus, so retention is almost out of the question too.

    I think the tax on the UK is the best so far, although how it was before tax on bonuses came into effect. It seems rubbish to tax on money that is mostly "virtual". The only thing that has made UK not as profitable is that the ease of self excluding inside the software (which is a GREAT thing for problem gamblers) makes it too easy for NON problem gamblers to self exclude because they have a bad session or get pissed off, then don't realise until the next day when they have calmed down that there's nothing we can do about it and now they can't play on any of our brands and have to wait until the period is over. This will prove to be most problematic if they bring in the shared database of problem gamblers because it will mean that someone who self excludes won't be able to play on ANY ukgc licenced casino, pushing them to the rogues if they want to continue playing. I say if because they still don't have a way to implement it where it will work 100%.

    My 2 cents.
