I received a reply from Leopold, he has given me permission to post it here. He is having a tough time and all of his time is being spent caring for his wife:

Hi Anthony,

no, I am not alright. Since 4 weeks now my wife is almost in the intensive care unit. She has an acute and chronic kidney failure with a bunch of other complications. Her survival odds for more than 4 months from now at this moment are 5% only.

After a botched dialyses catheter surgery at the chest she almost died, because after the surgery they put her to the normal station. 70 hours later the wound started to bleed and they let it bleed for 10 hours before I made them clear, that a very bad thing will happen to the hospital if they will not bring her back to the inventive care unit immediately. Within one hour they did it, and an emergency surgery was needed.

She was evacuated to another hospital with special cardiovascular surgery, but first a Dr. Frankenstein at this Hospital tried to make experiments with here, refused to allow the life-sustaining dialyses and put more and more water into her maltreated body, a result of the failed surgery. Her shoulder, chest and back are a single hematoma. She looks like beaten.

It took me 3 days to stop this water filling madness with contacting the highest levels. Now she is back to daily dialyses (4 hours every day), but the dialyses work of 3 weeks was destroyed within the 3 days of Dr. Frankenstein.

Since last Thursday I now clearly feel and cannot deny, that I am at the brink of burnout syndrome. I am feeling this physical as well as emotional exhaustion, caused by the permanent stress and tension, and it will be more worst every day now.

I was not on the forum nor anywhere else on the internet with the exception of searching for medical information or a newspaper at the not so worst days. Before I checked it some minutes ago I did not even knew, if my website is still working. I just don't care....

...I do not know, if there are any PMs at GPWA and anywhere else.

Thank you again for your message. I am driving twice a day to the hospital and so I am for many, many hours out of the home, from Monday to Sunday. The rest of the day I need to care the 3 dwarf poodles and the 3 cats who also cannot understand, why my wife is not coming home. One poodle is still after weeks sitting half the day at the big window and waiting, that she comes around the corner. There is really nothing, that can bring sunshine in my heart right now, not even for a minute.
