The diagnoses is bad. She feels bad. She has also anemia. There is a high risk of complications and now also the suspicion of a tumor. My wife is 67 years old, and it's simply not the same as if you are 30 or 40.

Yesterday I evacuated her from the hospital, because every third patient at once was admitted with influenza, and they are packed to the rafters and have only 4 bed rooms now.

The next intervention will not made before Thursday, and they will do nothing before Thursday. So I made them clear, that I will not put my wife with a cardiac insufficiency at the risk of an influenza infection, which would be the worst thing that can happen with her conditions.

You have to know, that Germany might be one of the richest countries in the world, but our medical system is a disaster. Every third hospital is at the brink of bankruptcy. The doctors and nurses are underpaid, and here in this hospital more than the half of all medical employees are coming from foreign countries and this causes a lot of problems. But you know, as long as a doctor is not filmed by hidden camera having sex with anesthetized patients, no one of this "Gods in white" will ever be sentenced here in Germany at civil or criminal court for any wrongdoing.

I have no problem when a Muslim nurse is wearing a headscarf, but I have a serious problem, when she can't speak and understand the German language properly, because in a hospital there is a lot of responsibility, and it's more than selling tickets and popcorn at the box office. The same with some doctors, who are coming from Arabic regions, and unfortunately, their strange image of women in general is obvious.

The climax of insanity was, that they gave my wife antihypertensive medications, despite the fact, she had a blood pressure of only 90:50. I brought my own measure instrument into the hospital and measured her blood pressure. So she stopped taking this pills. Otherwise she would be already dead.

Thank Goodness, this forum has its own new high quality blockbuster stories now. It is really exciting to see e.g. thrilling record low Celcius degrees reports from all over the world. Without any doubt, some are convinced, they found the explanation with that thread, why their penis is so small.

Hello Leopold, Sorry to hear about your wife current condition.. I can only imagine how frustrated it is for you to struggle with the medical system like this with such problems like the language issues which is absolutely none-sense.. I mean how can you give treatment if you can't speak the local language ?!
I'm praying for your wife condition to improve soon, it's good that at least she have you by her side. Hope all the best for you and your wife

Keeping BOTH you and your wife in my prayers, and be sure to try and get some rest when you can, and despite the tendency to stop taking care of yourself, be sure to do so you do not get too run down and be there for her.

Also sad to hear about the influenza outbreak, the CDC has said that the US is finally getting a little closer to having it under control here, so it was likely a smart move getting her away from that.

Regardless of personal views/issues we have/had, I'm sorry to hear your wife (best friend) is dealing with ill health. I'll reiterate "Rick's" advice, be sure to take care of yourself too. In times like this we can let our own welfare slide, but doing so doesn't help anyone, especially those we're caring for.

The same story plays out here in AU too. Had to get a specialist's referral, and my usual GP was booked solid. So, visited another clinic near by. While this Asian Dr was friendly, her basis understanding of spoken English was horrid. So much so, I had to literally write down what I needed. I shudder to think of the outcome if anyone was really, really ill.

I called off everything today until next Wednesday.

With my wife, draped over my arm, I interviewed the receptionist about the planned admission today and if the hospital is in better condition than it was on Monday. Seconds after this time not only the word "influenza" but also the word "norovirus" came out of her mouth, I was not interested in the rest of her story, turned without any comment on my heel, walked with my wife towards the endoscopy department, and after 20 minutes of charm offensive the secretary gave me now a fixed date for next week Wednesday without waiting again days and days. No! Immediate medical treatment next Wednesday.

The regular scenario would be, she is admitted today but must also wait until Wednesday next week, but almost a week in a polluted environment like in a Vietnam War prisoner of war camp.

I have entertained and cared all 4 ladies in the 4 bed room for almost one week, the first week. Every nurse on the station knows me in the meantime. Water bottle empty? TV or telephone not working? Within 3 coughs everything is done. One 70 years old lady was admitted without shoes and has no relatives? No problem. Half an hour later I brought her brand new fluffy ballerina-slippers in her size. I personally put on the shoes on her feet as if she is Cinderella for some moments. Judging by her expression, obviously this happened for the first time after decades of wating. Cinderella was so happy, that she needed one less inhalation session that day. My wife, three metres away, has really no problem with that. She knows my extrovert and mischievous character.

So it was now time for a Quid quo pro in my opinion with that fixed date without condition, right?!

I am engaged in a process of self-delusion if I believe, when she is at home now for one week, the problems will vanish at once, but at least here she is in a safer environment, and self-delusion for one week is not the worst choice.

Also my batteries are not unlimited and need a recharge. But I would never tell her that.

Entertaining a whole room for several hours every day over a whole week, in a hospital, where everyone (including me) has worries and is not in a so good mood, this is even for me hard work. I can tell you that.

For the first time in my life I missed the Oscar results this year. I have no idea, what is going on in the world. The only thing I heard of is, that Russian bimbo Anastasia Vashukevich is in Thailand prison for good reasons now and desperate she is, the self-styled "sex-coach" claims to have detailed insider knowledge of Russian meddling in the US election, allegedly also audio-tapes and Trump bombshells and wants to cooperate with US investigators. An idiot from CNN immediately traveled to Thailand and tried to give with that story the stone-dead Russia-Collusion nonstarter some new food.

Not surprising - because no one has the wish to end in a hellhole in Thailand - the hooker, who was arrested during one of her "sex training" seminars for Russian tourists in the resort city of Pattaya, can't talk unless the U.S. gets her out of prison.

It is an congestive heart failure, Moonlight Cat with some more complications and the overcrowding and infection risk in the hospital prolongs the complete diagnoses and the treatment. And now, when she is here at home, but still sleeping so often and long, tristesse would be the last thing that would be helpful to both of us.

So, when she is sleeping like now, I have to recharge my batteries my way and so ...

I have recently finished a new season of Jessica Jones. And you know what? I am pissed. Royally pissed.

After the first season with such an amazing villain brilliantly performed by David Tennant we get 13 episodes of disappointment in season 2. Gigantic black holes in the plot. Poorly motivated characters. At the beginning of season 1, I was charmed by a broken personality of Jessica who tries to wash away the Kilgraves traumatic experience, but after watching season 2 I've got a traumatic experience that I need to wash with a bottle of liquor myself.
