MGS Deletes Games for Amer Players

From today, Wed. May 19, Microgaming is deleting certain games from American players. This is in addition to prohibiting Amer players from progressives, which was done already.

It seems MGS is determined to chase off US players. Or something. I'd like to understand what is happening so I'll have some idea of the game plan. Why not just bar US players period, if MGS doesn't want them to play?

I received an email from Cool Hand Poker that as of June 1 US players will no longer be able to place wagers. I queried Gareth at Referback but he has not come back with an answer as if it was a network wide thing or just CHP. Actually I don't believe he was aware... Built my bankroll and cashed out my account just to be safe.

Unfortunately due to circumstance beyond our control, as of 1 June 2010 we will no longer be able to take bets from players residing in the United States.

Many aren't telling us anything at all ... not exactly the kind of professional business treatment "partners" should be subjected to!

I sure wish we would find out soon so the speculation would stop and we can start to plan accordingly! The longer we are left out in the cold the more I start to feel unappreciated as a partner.

It looks to me like the UIGEA coming into effect on June 1 has Microgaming scrambling to make sure they are in compliance. Too bad they left everything until the last minute, it's not like they didn't know!

I believe the operators are as confused as we are, mainly due to MG not keeping them in the loop.

It looks like MG has decided to develop a clone casino under an umbrella type of corporate structure and that is where the American players will be shifted to. They reduced the number of games available because they couldn't offer any that were MG branded. They are not accepting new players at this time... hopefully that will change once the bugs are worked out.

Referback has been pro-active and made a deal to send their American Jackpot City Casino players to Slotastic (RTG). This deal includes new players and affiliates will be credited with the referral. Kudos to them for that! I hope they do the same with all their casino brands and work out a deal for their American poker players as well.

How does this affect you?

As of the 28th of May, a new affiliate account will be created for you on Revshare Affiliates

This means that if you have any active U.S. players, you can view your stats on RevShare Affiliates

Your account number will remain the same as your "FA" account number, but with an "RS" prefix. This means your FA Account number FA

Your email address and log in password will remain the same as on Fortune Affiliates

We are going to move the account details for each of your US-based players across in full with all banner tags and information that we currently have in our back office

Player banner tags and revenue models will not change at all. We will honour your chosen earnings model and all terms and conditions as agreed to on Fortune Affiliates

You will still be able to access state-of-the-art reporting and support
You will, in future, receive separate payments for your earnings on US players and non-US players via Revshare Affiliates and Fortune Affiliates respectively

As they are separate companies, negative earnings from one will not affect positive earnings on the other

At this point, we will not be accepting new US players

How does it affect your players?

US-based players will automatically be redirected to the US-facing casinos and websites through geo-targeting methods

Players will still receive the same top-class service, from the same VIP hosts and skilled support teams to assist with all their queries

All the great bonuses, promotions, purchase matches and offers that players have come to love will also still be available

IMO 99% chance that US players will be kicked off MG software by the 1st June judging from all the frantic activity to migrate existing players. At least that's how I am approaching things now.

They want to have their cake and eat it too!! Remeber that US was, by far, the largest % of the market prior to UIGEA. And those who stopped accepting US money took a beating. So, most of them returned to accepting US money. Fairly quickly, too.

MGS doesn't want to forego that money, certainly the big operators don't want to lose it. It's way too much money not to take a stab it keeping. Can you say "Billions"???

We'll see how this works out.

Yep we are getting wildly different stories from different MGS Operators. Got a letter today from Brightshare which further muddied the waters, so I am not sure whats going on:

Yah , for Brightshare as of TODAY the letter says yet I have not gotten word from this new entity about how I can access stats - not even a welcome message or anything. Shouldn't that have been done prior to the changes taking affect? How is that transparent? How is that smooth?

So the casinos have been sold / transferred to a new group? Players have been sold / transferred over to a new group? Affiliates have been sold / transferred over to a new group? Is this a shell game of some sorts or are we all actually moved over to a totally independant entity that can do what they please and leave MGS clear of any fault of what might happen?

Yep speculation running rampant for sure! Are our futures as MGS affiliates suddenly looking very dim or what?
