Not to also mention, will this also mean link changes?

Link changes hurt ALL affiliates period and no matter how far out in advance we know about them, this ALWAYS hurts affiliates.

I would say that link changes are inconvenient for affiliates, not hurtful. No matter what your job, sometimes you have to do something that is inconvenient, or something that doesn't directly contribute to your income, in order to improve something for the long term. I think there are indisputable advantages for affiliates of this move, so asking them to take on some inconvenience, for a greater good, is not hurtful.

If you own 200+ sites like some of us do you would understand the link change issues.I cannot remember one time i had to change links and my income didn't take a dive.

Unless the webmaster uses a redirection or database to do their links on their sites, link changes CAN and DO hurt affiliates for the long term, and stating otherwise is an injustice.

First, there rae dozens of smaller search engines and directories that can and do pick up pages and cache them in their drectories over time. Many of these smaller places do not update those caches often if at all.

Once those pages are picked up if an affiliate link changes, and the directory does not update the cached version of the page that directory will carry the incorrrect link.

This often means the visitor gets to the proper destination, but the affiliate may not get credit because many times in the past we have seen that the affiliate program will not track visitors from old links or will stop tracking visitors from old links at a specified date and time.

This is obviously not the main surce of traffic, but it is a portion.

As someone above also mentioned, what aboiut the affiliate that has 100 or more sites? They are now expected to change all hteir links on all those sites, and by not doing so traffic is wasted.

Also, what about the costs in terms of time and labor to make those changes?

So inconvenient....yes but it goes further...it is also HURTFUL and COSTLY!!!

    Another question about sub-affiliates.

Will we be able to continue to see all sub-affiliates and their affiliate id's like we can now?

Will we be able to determine what amount of revenue is coming from each of these subs?

    Hi Rick

I understand where you're coming from. It's only to say that, at times, big projects ARE necessary in order to make improvements, and some times that means inconveniences. Affiliates are certainly not alone in being inconvenienced by this move.

As for the sub affiliates, I don't have all the specifics yet about how the transfer will work, but the IA system is very good for making it easy to track sub affiliates, and yes, in our system you can see their IDs and view their stats.

    Cheers

Well, I guess I will ask the question DIRECTLY.

Will this mean a link change?

Will you be tracking ALL traffic from ALL old links even after the change?

If, at some time frame in the future the old links will sop tracking, will they also stop reaching the proper destination?

Personally I do not like having a link clicked that ends up sending a visitor to the wrong place but I would honestly rather have that then having the visitor go to the true destination and not getting credit.

(If we do not get credit for the visitor, you shouldn't get the visitor)

This has nothing to do with BetFred specifically, I feel this way about any and all link changes we have had to endure over the years.

Regarding link changes, sub affiliates, and other program specifics, we donít have all of that information yet. However, we will pass this feedback on to the people who are handling the integration.

We appreciate your feedback, and we will continue to communicate with as much advance warning as possible as the transition takes shape.

To be perfectly honest the link changes, sub-affiliates and other program specifics, as well as mapping over existing players should have already been discussed as well as decided upon before the integration was considered to be a feasable task.

    I certainly this was.

The problem is that many of us have seen this SO MANY times over the years, and I reaaly can't recall it ever going as smooth as the operators claimed it would.

Sorry, but I am being HONEST here.

I haven't had any issues with them for awhile, and they have been paying me on times - though it has been a bit of a hassle since you have to manually request your commissions by the tenth of each month.

However, when they moved me to the new system at the beginning of this month, all of my player activities dating back to May 1st were wiped out and moved to the new platform. And so far I haven't been able to log in using the same username and password.

I've sent them a few emails. The first time I got a response from Natalie stating to log in again using my old login info. And after numerous trials I informed them that it doesn't work and still haven't gotten any replies back. This is now getting very annoying.

    Anyone else have this experience?

My experience is very similar only they manually reset my password and sent it by email and I can log in now.

What I am trying to determine is whther they have completly wiped out sub-affiliates....

If they have, then I am certainly NOT happy.

My earnings and traffic numbers for May have all been reset to zero, and they are now at zero in both infaces old and new.

Also earnings from sub-affiliates have been set to zero from May 1st forward.

When I log in the the new interface and try to create a link for sub-affiliates it returns no results.

I certainly hope they are not planning on telling us the sioftware doesn't support subs because we all know that IA Softwrae does in fact support it.

If sub-affiliates are gone then I would say this is a retroactive change to commission terms....

    Anyone know?

I just had a conversation on the phone this morning and wanted to be sure and update this thread with the results of that conversation.

I was told by my affiliate manager that going forward BetFred will not be using the sub-affiliate program.

This does NOT mean that they are changing ther terms retroactively for any existing affiliates though.

Since I already had affiliates registered as part of their sub program, my affiliate manager have the subs registered in the new software and I will continue to earn on them.

I do not think everyone was on their sub program in the past so each individual case may be different so if you feel this affects you it is probably best to chack with your affiliate manager at BetFred.

As a side note, I will remind everyone that we need to change our links over to the new style of links using the IA software, although the old links will continue to track conversions the new links need to be used in order to see complete stats such as impressions and visits etc...

I will say that after my conversation with Rakeesh I certainly feel much more comfortable about BetFred and the affiliate program moving forward.
