Need some advice with SEO and link building

OK Stefan, i am impressed with your knowledge and i must thank you for your advice (Thanks!)
But, being a novice, it looks like i broke the rules!
I read somewhere that to make sure that all pages get equal ranking you must link back to your home page, so i add a few lines at the bottom of each post.

Here's an example

So i am linking to my home page PLUS other pages to keep the circle going. It not only gives me better SERPS but it also entices my visitors to read other posts i have written.

Also (being a novice again) I willy-nilly add links to other relevant posts i have written now and again, and these are the ones that i may copy to other websites.

I'm not sure what i'm doing to be honest, but it seems to work!

In regardsof linking internally , I'll tell you what you're doing...
If you're selecting the pages you link to completely randomly, the you are creating a link pattern within your site that eventually leads to every page getting links from everywhere...
If this happens, the Value (call it PR or whatever) of every ionternal page of yours will be equal internally.

This gives you great rankings If the site has lots of incoming links... (and your site has them)

Linking to the home page internally with a given keyword is only useful if it has meaning. In your case, (the wayyou put it in the link it's ok...

Keep up the good work and get only links from good relevant sites )

His ebook is really good. You'll realise that it's not all about page rank.

I've had a look (Its Dave Thies, by the way). He does seem to be a big thing in SEO.
And he does give away free advice here

I don't have a clue who "Dave" Thies is but I have known "Dan" Thies for years and years he is one of the best of the best in SEO... He was also one of the first Pioneers in keyword research and has been well known for years as the "Keyword Guru".

I would assume that this "Dave" guy is just trying to make some money using Dan's name and reputation.
