Default New site being built, feedback would be great!

    Hi guys

First post here so please be gentle!

I am fairly new to affiliate marketing, I run another website which has been going for a couple of months and is making a bit of money, but I am hoping my new one is going to be the main money maker.

The site is about 60% done, and I think I just would like some feedback from my peers to understand better what direction I want the site to take.

My next main thing to do is write content for each of my clients, and I'm not sure what's going to work best. I guess I'd describe the site as more of an online directory so do I just have a fairly brief but punchy description listing the key points, or a full on review?

I am probably going to go down the route of getting a content writer to do this anyway, time restraints means if I do I'll still be writing it next year. I also need help around SEO and such like to make sure when I launch the site I actually get some visitors. If anyone has any tips how I can make the site more SEO friendly that would be appreciated.

Anyway, some thoughts and feedback on anything related to the site would be great - I'm new to web designing as well so there's nothing too flashy on there as I just don't know how to do anything like that, but one thing I am going for is a smooth, slightly classy approach if you like.

The website address is www dot allthecasinos dot com

    Thanks all!

    Gary

    Hi Gary,

    Welcome to the forum!

I really like your site - it's definitely got a smart, classy look to it and the drop down menus are easy to navigate.
If you're keen to get the site finished quickly, it could be best to do punchy descriptions for your clients now and then add in full reviews at a later date. I think the full reviews will be better for SEO, but they're definitely going to be time consuming to create.
I'll let one of the SEO whizzes on here chip in with more advice on this

Have you thought about geo-targeting this listings on the site so different brands appear if the user comes from different counties? Quite a few of the brands you're featuring don't accept US traffic so you're likely to earn more from the site if you replace these with US brands for US visitors.

I'd be really interested in working with you if you'd like to add some more brands to the casino section. Drop me an email if you're intersted - we've got a few different brands accepting traffic from all over the world.

Best of luck with the site & hope you get some good SEO advice

    Thumbs up

    HI gary - welcome aboard!

Well done on the site, looks good and I look forward to seeing it develop in time with the added reviews.

Key to success of the site will be giving customers what they want and showing them where to go on your site to find it, especially in the vital first few seconds on your home page. In those first few moments I am 'absorbing' everything I can see even though I am not actually reading it in detail.

For that reason, I would suggest moving the text description that currently sits below the main image slider down to the bottom of the page and moving the three smaller offer images up to replace them. In my opinion, this gives me more to 'absorb' before I'm ready to start reading things - when I'm ready to start reading I can drill down in more detail by following the various links which I think you've done a good job of signposting.

Remember, all of this is going on in my head in the first few moments when I look at your homepage and make up my mind whether to stick around or hit the back button on my browser so this is a really important thing to test and optimise and get right.

To give further advice I'll use your casino page as an example. You currently have 45 casino brands and, other than their position on the page, they are all receiving the same size and weight of promotion/exposure. As a customer I already know that there are lots of choices out there and I'm expecting YOU to help me decide on the right one. If all these 45 casinos are equal in your eyes then how can I possibly decide and why should I come to your site anyway? The value you add is in helping me make up my mind.

My advice would be to pick a handful of reputable casino brands and make them your premier choices. Give these guys additional space, larger images and more prominent positions and a few lines of why they are so awesome. For customers who are already convinced, give them an option they can click to go straight to the brand. For those that are ready to hear more, give an option to click through for a more thorough breakdown of why YOU think they are great.

By clearly steering me to a few brands that YOU think are great you are helping me as a customer and also showcasing your own knowledge which helps me trust you more for the future. And another thing..... (don't let any other AM's know that I mentioned this) by selecting 'premium partners' and giving them enhanced exposure you are actually creating a lever that you can pull when it comes to negotiating better deals with the casinos. Eventually you can sell these spots for a better deal or reward your best converting partners, depending on your business model.

You might want to list a few additional non-premier partners at the foot of the first casino page with about the same levels of exposure you have now as well as a link to another page where 'all your other casinos' can be found and have a page of all the rest laid out pretty much as your current page is now.

All brands are not created equal so don;t be afraid to pick a few winners based on your thoughts - in doing so you are actually helping me as a customer and future revenue generator.

Good Luck and welcome to GPWA - you are def in the right place!

    Hi Gary,

    Welcome to the forum!

You have received great advice so far. I can see that you are still building up the site, so I have only a couple of comments.

    • Add facebook button
    • Add a promotion tab at the top – on that page you can add the latest promotions that the affiliate managers send you every month.

I wish you all the best with your site.

    Regards,

    Don't forget G+

And I would add call to action buttons on the 2nd level graphics (Jackpot city, Gala, WH)

The general structure is great I think, and it's loading quick
What are your thoughts content-wise? I can't imagine Google falling in love with your site, as it lacks text content (any one please correct me if I'm wrong)

First thing first, you really need to put some targeting in your title tag especially since this is a start-up portal.
You will need a jump start both from social networking sites, gambling/casino portal site reviews as well as in search engine.
SEO-wise, your content is enough to get noticed by search engine crawlers and get indexed good.

If you need more upfront and technical advice for your internet marketing and SEO strategy, you can always contact me via pm and maybe we can build some serious business together.

    Thanks,

    Jay

    Red face

    Hi Gary
What a great start you've made to your website! I see there has been some great suggestions in terms of layout, design to help you improve your website

All I could add - and speaking from a payments perspective is that you could also perhaps consider adding a page of content about payment and deposit / withdrawal options so that your site audience is well versed on how to play safely online. It's important that once a person hits your site -they know exactly how they can deposit quickly, safely and securely at any of these casino, sportsbook, or other gaming operator sites.

Using a wallet to depost to sites has many benefits for your members:

    1) It's safe, secure and easy to sign up

    2) It provides additional incentives to your members - ewallet companies offer their members variou special VIP (concierge) services , Loyalty programs - simply for playing online

    3) Often gaming companies process withdrawals and deposits a lot faster than using regular credit cards or bank transfers

    4) Advertising an ewallet to your customers, can help you increase customer conversion as members will not get declined when trying to deposit at a gaming operator's site from certain hard to reach countries where payments are perhaps not as advanced as the UK.

The best part - about promoting ewallet companies is that you earn 2 x comissions for every player you convert via an ewallet - as you also get a % revenue share when a member uses a wallet to transfer to a merchant site - no matter where they play for their entire lifetime (you get the casino/ sportsbook/ gaming comission + you get a comission from the ewallet provider.)

If you'd like to know more about this - feel free to PM me.
Great start though - and I wish you all the best with your site launch!

This site looks great! Although I slightly disagree with the Welcome text being at the bottom of the homepage. With all that's going on at top - it almost seems redundant. Perhaps a small snippet of the text should be where you've placed twitter. And perhaps the call for twitter followers should be at the foot of the page.

Overall, I like the site a lot!! Keep it up!
