    Default Not in Prague?

With everyone over in Prague right now, I'm wondering who's left in their respective offices/homes? I'm holding down the fort for Everest. Anyone else?

Sitting at home as well. It's actually a nice time to get caught up on nagging tasks since there are so many over yonder.

    Makes for a quiet week.

I'm up in Massachusetts rather than in Prague. We have a sizable team at the event (6 people) and ordinarily I go to the conferences, but this time I'm staying in the states since my girlfriend has a big event on Friday that I wanted to be with her for.

Not Amsterdam, not Prague, not Niagra Falls not Budapest.

I really do not see the point in the multiple conventions and get togethers that this industry thinks it needs in order to "network and do business" - and certainly the frequency is over the top.

I thought that we were in a virtual business ?

I love it when the conferences are on and for about a week afterwards because I don't get any emails about catching up at whatever conference is coming up. Seriously, I wish the programs would realise if we have something to say we will hunt them out and whilst they might send out one email, if we belong to 50 programs that can mean 50 messages.

Or perhaps there can be a field within the affiliate account management where we can opt out of emails about conferences.

Oh yeah, in case you have gathered, I'm not in Prague either...

I know for a lot of American's conferences are tied into taxing issues. Many use a conference as an excuse for a tax deductible vacation.

Not at the conference either... too much work here. Just this week we launched our new affiliate sub domain site design.

I'm not in Prague - even though I am being called/email regularly asking if we can meet etc, I am enjoying being away for once

Not sure as of now. I had originally planned on it but now it is looking like I will miss it. The trip is so long and not sure the body would hold up. (Unless someone want's to drop me a biz class ticket )

Jeremy attempted to have a virtual conference last winter (2009) but it deflated before it got off the ground. I thought it was a great idea, be able to visit programs from the comfort of home/office and never board a plane.

Glad we made your 'not' list Paul lol .I love to travel but I need to have a better reason than a conference so we usually book a cruise in Europe once a year and catch a conference at the same time.We are going to Budapest But I am going there for an extra week as I have a couple great friends who live there and will take a bit of a holiday with them.

I spend at most 4 hours at a conference venue and most time just book my meetings offsite.Tom Galanis gave us a great tour of London and we had a nice lunch last time.It is not always about the business for us ,many managers are considered Friend now after years of working together so it is nice to put a face to a voice or just catch up on things.

In regard to Niagara Falls ,we are flattered that people are traveling from Spain ,Uk and Italy to attend but when I STARTED this it was for the affiliates over here as not everyone can afford the big costs to go overseas. We like to eat ,we love to drink and we asked a few program to come to cover the costs of weekend. It is nice to sit and talk with a group of people who have the same concerns as you do.That was the most I got out of last year ,we all got to communicate on a different level and in the end I think we help each other to grow stronger.I know for myself I gained so much from Terry/Pokerkeep on the poker side of things that I probably never would have picked up reading on line.Nothing like face to face meetings IMO .I also do not think Alex has these events and expects EVERYONE to go all over the globe. There are some who will do that but by spreading them out it opens up opportunities for everyone to go if they wish to .
It is a pain when programs do pack up the entire department and ship them off for a week ,they should leave people behind to man the fort

    Judy
