Penalised by google for using getseobot?

I honestly don't know as I am still in learning phase and have not been concentrating seo on the homepage yet.
As I said earlier I had some results with "no deposit needed", where I was on page 2 or 3 I think.
But I Know something is going on cause of the results I'm getting.
Last couple of weeks I was concentrating on the review pages, and they where on top of all results, and now they have gone while the blog and facebook posts are still ranking high, so there IS something going on.

His traffic dropped, he is using a getseobot, a well known way to get your site banned... What more do you need to know?

At the very least submitting a review request to google will do no harm and may get his site reinstated to the SERP.

That's too early to tell as I don't have daily sign-ups(don't have that much traffic yet)

FYI - when google banns you these days your site stays in the index... it just does not appear in the SERP for anything but your domain name.

FYI - when google banns you these days your site stays in the index... it just does not appear in the SERP for anything but your domain name.

Your site is not in the first three pages... this is not good. This is a unique phrase with your domain name in it. Your site should show up in the SERP. It does not, this is a clear example that your site is banned.

But not to worry too much.
If you fix it google will forgive and after some time forget...

Or you can just be ultra paranoid and be afraid that Google will do something to you for running a gambling site...( which is a completely ridiculous notion) and do nothing and see how fast your site comes back in the SERP.

yeah really ridiculous to go and ask google to manually check a site that MAY not actually have a penalty but has been doing things against the T&C's, waiting a couple of hours to find all the right info out isn't going to hurt is it

I removed the getseocrap and all is as it was before I used it.

The FCD forum is on a sub domain and should not be penalized I thought, but I think it is also slapped by the great G.

And any SEO worth his salt would tell hm to remove that link exchange software ASAP, no matter if has been caught YET, or not.
Simply because if he has not been caught (however, it is obvious he has been), but if he has not been caught, it is just a matter of time until he is, if he does not remove that link exchange crap.

good god, i havent told him to keep the crap bot thing on there have I? I have told him not to rush into running to google as I can see something that google may not like still on the homepage!!!

have you looked into the backlinks that are pointing to the site? there is hardly any, this could be really holding back pages ranking. he may be still in the sandbox because of it. He may also have always had these rankings and been using personalised search results. Also he might have install this rubbish after google have last visited, but lets just rush straight in eh because you did an SEO interview in 2005.

Just showing my creds... No need to get personal or combative.

I thought our goal here was to help the new guy.
We both agree, the link exchange is bad.

As far as I can see, there is nothing on his site now, that the people at google quality control would find objection to.
So he should have no problem submitting the review request.

I can assure you my site is past the sandbox phase, and my backlinks are slowly growing in numbers.

Trouble started when the site got double in size overnight with duplicate content.


And now I remember there is a semi automated link exchange going on my link exchange page, which had been there for a long time and never was a problem.

But to be sure I gonna remove that also.(its java script anyway)

Added... Google is all about FRESH results. How can they have FRESH results and be putting new 'fresh' sites in some "sandbox"...

You can rank a new site in google now in just a few weeks, for unique terms on the site... the challenge is getting it in the money SERP's.
