    Default Player Value vs Volume?

Seen quite a few threads popping up with people getting hundreds of sign ups at just one affiliate program but making 0$$$, there are also many claims that unless you have thousands of players you cannot make a living, We sign up quite a few but when i crunch the numbers they are much different to what many people get here if earnigns are compared..

So do you need 1000s of sign up to make a good living? No IMO if that's the case then you need to change tactics, a Good player monthly value should be around 300 minimum to 2,000 on average.

It's not just the amount of deposits that are placed but also the type of bettors you need.. a 50 one time deposit for a bonus, or bettors that are just going with the trend "World Cups, Super Bowl etc" are just that, a Trend. a good player that deposits larger amounts wont cash out with just a few grand they like to keep going until they hit big, Complex betting players are usually the best, and also the most loyal, though if you don't have enough players to cover you can easily get burned.

There will be people that disagree and what works for them might not work for me, and Casino affs i cant really say as it's a very small part of my business.

Right now there are people struggling to make their site work, They have had the excitement of getting palyers to sign up but are not seeing the rewards... Sometimes you just have to change tactics.

Player Value out trumps sign up and depositors all the way IMO

Recruiting punters who are sold on the benefits of using a bookmaker rather than just on the promise of a bonus/enhanced price etc has got to reap better player value longer term and that's critical to long-term revenue and success in my opinion.

I'm increasingly of the view that recruiting punters to the right bookmaker in the first place is also critical - some are clearly good at retention whilst others aren't. Some limit players after a couple of successful bets and some don't (or aren't as ready to do so). I did some analysis recently on our customer base that showed that the average revenue per user on some of our programs was up to 20 times better than others with comparable depositors recruited over time. If 1 punter with bookie A is worth 20 from bookie B then focussing on quality rather than quantity, value over volume, has got to be the way to win at this game

Some good points for a newbie like myself, thanks. I'm struggling to get long lasting players so I've decided to work on a specific region of gambling and try and offer a more suitable aff scheme.

It would be great if you only had to start a blog, generate signups, and count the money.

People think they're running lemonade stands.

It's obvious that no 2 sites/methods can be comparable in terms of volume vs value.

"It aint what you do it's the way that you do it". As always with this sort of thing.

I've seen people on Twitter/FB promoting the hell out of 'beat the bookie' type offers where you are guaranteed money with the big odds offers. As a boost to standard signups, those offers are ok I guess, but if I was JUST getting signups through those methods then I wouldn't expect my customer value to be particularly high or long-term.

Value or volume ? Mmmm...... I prefer both, many "big money" bettors.

We have one site we send massive numbers of players and other sites where the numbers are smaller but the quality of the players are high value ,I believe it depends on your marketing techniques and yes free bet stuff will get you lots of traffic but the player values tend to be low.

I'd take one high roller over a hundred bonus hunters any day. Having said that, this is a number's game. So it's wise to widen your net and catch all fishes - then maybe one will grow into a whale.

Example, I've had players who initially played with $20 to test out the site's games and service. Then as they build rapport with the casino, their deposits gradually grow and so did my commission respectively.

Valid post, And what you are talking about happens to be some of my biggest competitors.. But most of these beat the bookie types charge hundreds for their top rated "Supposedly" winning Handicapp picks

I find different bookies do different things.

With bet365 if i send 5000 players, then i would dance and party.

With some others, if i send 5000 players! then hope a small % work

I push loads of social offers, but loads are asking for offers for existing customers rather than new customer offers.

With 5,000 bet365 players I expect you could invite all your friends, family and all of their friends and family to join you at said party at your expense and it would barely touch the sides
