Default Is Plus500 a Gambling Site?

Does anybody know much about the 'trading platform' Plus 500? My friend seems to think she can make money from it, although I'm under the impression it's a gambling site.
It's certainly masquerading as a trading platform, yet they offer sign-up bonuses and very generous affiliate CPA's.

Is it gambling, or is it gambling on the stock market (which in theory should be less risky)?

It depends on country you are asking. In some countries it can be treated like a gambling in other as a stock market trading platform. However, in most countries it's regulated by financial not gambling authorities. In UK it's authorised and licensed by FCA - Financial Conduct Authority

You can call binary options altogether with Forex as gambling on stock market, but it would be only 50% correct. None of your trades actually get to stock market, so you don't really buy shares or any currency, you just predict and trying to virtually earn money. I would say it is more like betting.

Plus500 is safe, they have FCA licence and CySEC, it is all good

Thanks MrBinaryAff I love your site branding BTW, fantastic. The Plus500 guys must make a ton of money, they keep phoning her up asking when she's going to make a deposit! That's what got me concerned, then I see they offer up to £6000 match bonus and 750e CPA to affiliates, so how are they making their money? I found it difficult to find how they work because the serps are full of affiliate sites lol

This is the very reason why so many people feel so misled by some of the binary folks that use terms like "investment"....and write some of their articles in such a way that some people feel they are purchasing actual stock or options.

I have noticed that as the industry has matured some the last few years that has reduced some.

I have also heard some stories of high pressure tactics as well, and that is something that could also give the binary industry a black eye, especially if those kinds of actions are also tied into giving people the impression they are "investing".

After a lot of digging, it's certainly a gambling site under the guise of a trading platform. At least with a casino you know what you are getting, which makes this seem like a scam. Not only are you not 'investing' in actual stock, the prices they offer are not the market rates so any research is pointless. Playtech also tried to purchase them, which speaks volumes regarding their gambling status.

Yes, 24option got fined for around 10k euros from CySEC by their aggressive calls and misleading advertisement. But honestly, just 10,000 euros? That's nothing for them. It is not only 24option who gets fined from time to time, I think Banc De Binary is leader in getting fines

I think the problem starts here, where many people think that some kind of gambling is less risky than other. Gambling is gambling, you can lose everything you have in no time. The only less risky gambling is the kind of gambling where you have some limits imposed. It does not depend on kind of the gambling.

It is very dangerous to think this way.

Gambling is always (unless you really REALLY know what you are doing, why you are doing that and why you have advantage over the house) a game where player is the long term loser.

    Your post is scary.

Key word is "investing". The investment they make is far longer in nature than the bets placed on the binary markets.

Yeah. Your post is really more scary than the fact that much of the worlds pensions and banking sectors are invested in the worlds stock market.

Another scary part is that you are asking on affiliate forum, where we - at least as I hoped - stand on the side of the house and we - as I also hoped - know how the game is.

Plus500 site is very aggresive kind of gambling. If it is a scam or not is up to you. For me all gambling is a scam and therefore I am a scammer. That is life.

But be it scam or not - the only rational way how to touch the gamble is to be on the right side, where money is being made. The side that your friend wants to be on is definitely not the right one.

That's why I asked the question, now I know you don't actually invest in anything with these sites.

There is nobody who invests with those sites. Only the sites try to persuade everyone that the gamble in "investing", as stated above.

Consumption is not an investment. Only in marketing it is marked as that, because it looks shiny. But this is forum for marketers.

Maybe you think it does not matter if the term "investment" or "consumption" is being used. But that is exactly the structuralist trick that has to be avoided.

It doesn't really matter how you call it. What matters is the risk involved. And the risk trading with leveraged products is very high. Just have a look at all the disclaimers and risk warnings on their website. So your friend should be aware that he might lose his whole deposited money. And chances are certainly much higher that he will lose his funds rather than get rich.

I'd suggest your friend trades with demo money first before making his first deposit.

It does matter a lot how it is called. If people call investment, what is in fact hardcore gambling or if they call other things with exactly opposite meanings, then it is really nonsense to let them even going to toilet, because they are able to eat their ... well... it really is not a good advise to tell them to set up demo account which is as we all know just first step for real money account. It really makes no sense to talk about chance or probability with people who do not understand simple terms.

CPA are crazy within binary options. Do recommend to have a good domain if you're getting in that nische or strong backlink contacts.

Plus500 looks interesting, as well as binary options. Maybe I will give a shot, after making few sites for betting...

Plus 500 is basically a forex company but they offer binary options, which is... kind of a form of gambling

    Hi,

Please let me share a couple relevant quotes I read the other day:
'The gambling known as business looks with austere disfavor upon the business known as gambling.'
    and
'People called me a gambler. As the scale of my operations increased I became known as a speculator. Now I am called a banker.'

These articles might be of interest. Forex and Binary options are getting alot of bad press in Israel lately.

They are very long (Sunday reading ) and I felt a little sick reading about the depths they went to exploit customers.

I knew Forex and Binary was shady, aggressive and terrible value for money but I didn't realise it was a down right scam in most cases.
