Poker .al - Sell or develop?

I have a killer domain name (relatively speaking) poker .al .
Given all the Google challenges, is it still worth developing it or should I try to sell for $2K or so?

There is not enough traffic from Albania to justify it, so it would have to be targeted to international one. On the other hand, I have never done a gambling site though.

Better you save it....maybe you can sell higher but anyway albanian traffic actually is low

My advice is to hang onto it until Albanian online gambling traffic picks up. Then put it up for sale.

I'd keep it and wait for traffic to pick up.
Never know which country will be the next hit. Then decide if you want to sell, or use it.
Other solution is to start working on it now, take positions, and make a decision as already #1 in PL when it starts growing

If interested about poker .al ,please let me know. BIN is $2000 and is very reasonable considering previous poker .cctld sales. Transfers are done vise sedo and Host.al within days ($200 USD fee can be split between us)

I am pretty sure all Albanians are good gamblers as everyone in Balcans; if there were no restrictions, the domain would have value maybe 20k+

I am selling his because I own so many names and need the money for expenses. If I could sell another name, I'd keep this for ever. Poker is poker and even in the worst case scenario people will always search for it.

This name also matches Alabama's state abbrev. But either way this is a premium keyword so there's some value even in a cctld extension.

As for the laws promised....who knows but usually after a big show, things settle down. What they did is confiscate all illegal (not paying tax) gambling machines. They can be in many local stores, at times very 100 yards or so, very unregulated. One thing is sure, the state needs money and if they can tax it, they'll make it legal.

well there is no doubt things will change, but my experience says that it takes at least 2 electoral terms until policy changes

so the poker.al domain should be empty for years until things settle down... I would have no problem with that, my biggest problem here is time and that last thing I need is to monitor Albanian policy

already talked about this above and nothing is set on stone. What they did is ban illegal gambling parlors, you could find those often rigged machines in every block.

Btw, this Nolan Dalla /wannabe comedian must be a moron and you shouldn't be getting any news from him. Just for starters: Albania GDP has been growing virtually every year, even during the crisis and Albania is absolutely beautiful. Sure it isn't a manufacturing powerhouse and there no Dubai style buildings but so what.

They are almost a million Albanians working outside Albania, especially in Italy and Greece.

CEZ didn't lose that much, but they should have based on their scummy behavior. What actually happened is that they did not invest a penny in infrastructure and that promised investment was the reason they got the power monopoly so cheap. Then they started to fire most employees, over-bill customers with no way of appealing and so on. (Since this was a state company, you needed a letter from them stating that you owe them nothing in order to get state services, like file for pension. Imagine the nightmare.) Anyway, they will get a settlement since Albania wants to join EU and the Czech government will block it unless they settle.

Your thinking is right, but honestly it is already priced in. It isn't a $xx,xxx price, just $2000. Let's not forget that US banned gambling and even arrested many execs just a few years ago. Things happen and then change. Even on the stories you read the ban would not be universal. So even if that goes on as stated, the name would still have value.
