Portal content help?

Hi everyone!

I am looking for some good content for my casino / sportsbook site. Im new to all of this and maybe someone could give me some good ideas.... live news streams or sports scores or something?

Hey Lew,
For now forget about the live RSS feeds. I recommend that you write your own unique content. Go out and research information for your particular niche. You mentioned that you have a casino and sportsbook portal? That's a pretty big topic. You may want to narrow it down to one or two main themes. Then when you have your theme try to offer something unique to the visitor. I know it's a lot harder than throwing up a RSS reader, but it will help you with long term success.

It was suggested to me by some seasoned webmasters here to try to rank for 3-4 keyword phrases, then gradually go for the more competitive phrases. There's always the exception.. There's one new webmaster here that ranked in the top 5 for "best online casinos" within 3 months.. How his traffic is converting is another matter.

What he means by niche is taking your topic and splitting it up. So for casino for example you may want to concentrate on a handfull of casinos, even more take certain casinos from one of the top casino platforms, than write about the casinos, the software, the games etc...

or even more take the casinos and pick something in it at first like table roulette, write about casinos who offer it, varaitions of the game, rules of the game, the software used in some of the games, live games etc.....see lots of topics about roulette also means you will have plenty to keep you busy and you will have alot of content.

Something I have also learned...you can rank for whatever you want it but it doesnt mean that you will be able to convert your players

Just checked out your site. Your site needs some major changes made to it. At the moment it looks like a bit of a banner farm. Cut the banners down and add alot more unique content.

Plus at the moment the opening paragraph repeats a bit to much. I understand you are repeating the site name for seo reasons but in the opening line this can easily pi*! off the reader. Check out other affiliates sites and get an ideo of content writing and pick niche areas to write about. I started wiriting all my own content so I could get the hang of the industry now I outsource alot of it and just set the writer up with the heading, keywords and over look what they do. Maybe pay someone to write a few articles for you and get an idea of their writing.
