    Default PPC or SEO?

    Hi,

I want to get some opinion on this topic. How does most gambling site owners promote their business? Is it by purely PPC or SEO?

    SEO all the way!
I've never paid for a click or purchased a link. In fact, I avoid link exchanging in general. Building solid content and good SEO is IMO the safest and most effective road to success. Hard work does pay off.

Thanks guys, thanks for the advice.

For doing SEO, I believed the main part is building lots of back links. How do you achieve that? I went to some directories to submit my website, most of them DO NOT accept gambling related sites. Do you all got a list of directories which accept gambling sites?

I agree, SEO is the way forward nowadays, 5 or 6 years ago I made lots of money with PPC, but have tried a few times recently and can't seem to get any decent conversions and its really expensive.

You can get some good tips from google's SEO book as posted at this thread... https://www.gpwa.org/forum/googles-s...de-177769.html

    Default SEO here too.

I've experimented with PPC and it's a short term play at best. I could not find any PPC that was really as effective as google used to be in terms of ROI.

Good SEO and sticky content is the way to go.

PPC is costly. SEO involves a lot of hard work and networking. SEO brings greater results long term though.

I am a little surpised that nobody has mentioned the personal involvement with players as part of a great way to get traffic.

SEO is very important and I used the PPC on occasion. My first real success came with free games and chat. Players love that contact with affiliates and you also get to know the players, help them with problems and complaints and so on. It's a very valuable thing. Also very time consuming to say the least, just another thought for you to look into.

    Good Luck!

agree with Joe. its also a great way to make contacts that will later keep you informed of their gambling habits so you can check what they say against your stats to make sure everything is adding up.

    ----------------------

PPC. while most others went seo I went PPC because I didn't want to be google's b#tch and ended up getting the job anyway only I'm the late sunday morninger.

PPC when it stopped allowing gambling ads (the only PPCs I would even consider won't touch me .. google, yahoo and msn, maybe ask and a couple other small ones) but most part they are rip-offs (nowadays)and the only blessing about them is most are so greedy that for instance I had keywords at findwhat ... which at one time was decent .. and I've bid the lowest possible bid ... just because I wanted to be listed there ... and still no matter how much money i put in ... its gone in a few days at best.

That means that the kind of traffic they are seeing for people who are pages from the front ... is heavier than the traffic you'd receive from google ... with a first page ad but not at the top.

pretty neat trick considering google has all the traffic of the others put together.

if you do try PPC stay away from words like free or keywords that cost a lot because they'll get you a whole lot of debt and very little income.
Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.

I recommend sticking with a few key word terms to learn the concept. Avoid casino bonus, online casino, etc key terms that are over saturated as it will take you years to be on first page assuming others drop the ball.

Avoid link exchange farms, Google will catch You eventually.

You're talking of long tail keywords, easy to rank but low conversion/ search result?
