Yes, but it will take some time till application norms will appear. And, one bad news for affiliates: those who will promote autorized platforms in Romania will have to pay around 6k for licence

and, from what I read, it's illegal to promote non licensed sites (fine of 100 000 RON + 100% confiscation of earnings)

For Romanian players of unlicensed sites - it's an infraction punishable with a fine of Ron 5000 to Ron 10000).
Basically, they replaced max 2 year prison for players they had before with a fine of 2250 EUR, nice

I'm really curious how many operators are willing to pay the fine from 2009 and apply for licence. For poker, a good regulation in the area would mean player migration from neighbouring countries. This affiliate licence is wow, do we have any other countries where affiliates have to pay?

And what about non-Romanian websites that are written in Romanian ?

I dont think its a problem, they have no authority to do anything to non-romanian websites or non-romanian and non-eu citizens

In case of, I could even block traffic coming from within the borders of Romania. Some governments do fine websites (but are usually bookies or casino, not affiliates) from outside the country but targeting a little too much people from their country. F.e. Belgium is doing this!

It's quite a list. Big difference for example with Belgium is that the casino's on the Romanian blacklist are usually casino's that are in the range "not recommended" till "rogue", where Belgium for example blacklists trustworthy casino's that accept Belgian players. For example last week Casumo is blacklisted in Belgium.

What about a Romanian company not having any website in Romania, neither in Romanian, neither targetting Romanian people? Would this law bother?
