Default Stupid spammers just have no clue

The spam from Eastern Europe continues to grow daily. Besides the fact these idiots are a pain in the inbox, their tactics baffle me.

Let's say they are selling knock off (oops, replica) watches. The subject line may be "Replica Rolex" or "Best watches - Rolex" now if a person has filtered out the keywords to block the spam, why on God's green earth do they think we would bother to look at "[Replica Rolex]" or ">>>B3st watch3s Rol3x]" or any of the other ways they think will get past spam filters?

**** fire, we didn't show interest in the correct way of spelling, why would we look at a bastardized version? Morons can't be making any money off this archaic "marketing" effort. Get a clue and learn a trade. I think McDonald's is hiring.

Same goes for all the pharma spamming pukes.

    Hey Chips,
You know I am not so affected by spammers. I have about 10 different email accounts and I get surprisingly little. My native Mail program on my MAC does a decent job of filtering them.

I get more "Nigerian Princess emails" than any other type of spam. I hardly ever get porn or pharm.

It seems that they have really dropped off in the last year or two.

BUT, what gets me fired up is spam on my cell phone. Companies are now starting to send me SMS messages about concert tickets and Subway specials. Those bring me to the same level of disgust you have for spam.

In my experience, the older your email account, the more spam you get. I have accounts from the 90's and I almost do not use them anymore (weekly). All accounts I opened this year have nearly no spam. This is probably highly obvious I guess, but if you do not want spam, this is one way.

I love the emails that feature a nice chap that wants to use my bank account so that he can send me Ł15 million. All I have to do is send all my bank details and everyone's a winner!

I can make a huge profit by letting him do this don't you know!

The scary thing is that there are enough people to believe them. People have sent their banking details to them and have lost lots of money. I don't mean to sound harsh but that is darwin at work.

So true... it sounds so good to be true but then still many people fall on this kind of trap. . . so cruel...

I get the pharma and porn spams on my private email but not on the affiliate email address. There I get the usual unsolicitated requests and mails from affiliate managers not known to me. But I can't call that spam because the email address is a part of the contact details available on the website.

Running most of my email through Gmail has cured me of most of my spam concerns for the past 4 or 5 years now - but in an effort to appear more professional I have just set up some me@mydomainname.com email addresses and set up thunderbird as my email client.

...now I am back in spam hell. Surely there is plenty of good anti-spam software out there freely available?

(I'll be having a look over the coming days)

Even free email clients do a pretty nice job blocking spam, i am quite pleased. I remember about 2 years ago things were much worse!

I get pretty much zero spam in the inbox of my gmail account. Is google that good at spam filtering, or am I just lucky

Some of "Darwin's experiments" actually buy air tickets to visit these Guys in Nigeria and then they are kidnapped and held for ransom.

Just forward it to the president at the Nigerian bank or to the prince from Zimbabwe . Let them talk business as both parties have a lot to give away. Just ask a finders fee .

SMS spam is the next gen spam! I actually had text disabled on my phone!

Its only going to get worse as more and more SEO firms begin to pick this up as an additional service for brick and mortal businesses want to find a local presence.

My daughter hardly even users her computer now, she does all her searching on Google through her IPhone! So yeah the best is yet to come!
