Well, I enjoy some time playing slots, I find it relaxing. I guess that makes me a pigeon.

I think that "enjoy some time" and "find it relaxing" are euphemisms. As a casino affiliate, you have incontrovertible evidence that your behaviour is self-destructive. That knowledge probably helps you modify your behaviour to a certain extent...you're a social smoker. Personally, moderation is not my forté. We're all pigeons, thankfully enough from a business point of view.

Bottom line - as affiliates we all know what gambling can do to people's lives. We have no right to argue ethics or morality or we might as well take our sites offline. I find it amusing when someone gets on their ethical high-horse because some casino didn't pay someone. We're all dirty. Deal with it.

The morality behind promoting gambling has been discussed many times on this forum and there's a long thread about it somewhere if you fancy searching for it. At the end of the day, if a person wants to gamble, they will and I don't see any problem with that - it's just a form of entertainment and I know many people that treat it as such. From what you have told us for yourself it wasn't just entertainment and that would, understandably, affect how you view it. But whats the big deal about someone having a beer and playing a $20 poker tournament on a friday night when they don't feel like going out?

There is a big difference, however, between guiding players to a safe and trustworthy place and sending them to a clip joint that you know will probably rip them off. And if they will rip the players off, there will probably come a day when they will try and rip you off.

Anyway, that's just my opinion.

Personally, I view poker differently, but don't try discussing that with my wife. Your point is made though and I don't completely disagree. It's funny though...I never saw it coming when BCP and Coins ripped us off, but some of the sites that some of you deem "rogue" have been my best partners. And the majority of player complaints that I look into are obviously the player's fault...anyways, it's all shades of grey I guess.

I agree with you baldie (don't like the idea of calling you baldidiot). Anyway, the idea is to promote a site that looks after the best interest of your players and at the same time warn them against the pitfalls of excessive gambling. Players are not naive and they'll soon realize whether you're out to rip them off or run a site that covers all the aspects of online gambling holistically.

While it may seem easy to say such things ( as correct as you ) like karma is a bitch and hang in there, I have been living by those ideals for years now. Let me tell you a quick history lesson in karma.

About 5 years ago here in Toronto I went to the liquor store and bought a 6 pack of beer. The lady working the checkout rang me through but gave me $10 too much change back. I of course gave it back to her and kindly told her it would be better to not be short on her till at the end of the night.

On my way home I got jumped by 6 guys for my booze. I learned right then and there that karma is a bitch but doesn't really doesn't play a role in our lives as we may think it does.

I appreciate all the feedback however that you have all given. You truly are an excellent community of webmasters.
