I have been working on this babby too long , I think. I have almost finished with a revamp. Could a few of you guys tell me what is good and bad.
Right now I have a large chart up on home page. What do you think about this chart?

The site loads painstakingly slow - 21.94 seconds slow ( my ISP gives me download speed: up to 6 Mbps upload speed: up to 1 Mbps in case you want to compare based on services) . If you do get much traffic I'm willing to bet they leave before it loads.

My opinion - to many banners and way to many images.

Stop with the images and trying to "pretty up" the site. Think about the user first, images second. There is no need to have 110 different images on one page.

Why does the homepage give me info about USA reviews, compare usa casinos, usa security. Is your site about mac slots or USA casinos?

It seems like your not sure what you want to target. Your using a mac slots domain, the top gives me the top 5 net ent casinos which is NOT us friendly, and the remaining bits of the page is USA.

I'll stop there. I know your working hard at this, but your worrying to much about how to make things look pretty. If you want that invest a few hundred into a coder/designer that knows how to use sprites. Even then I would cut the page down as most isn't very useful for a homepage and could be placed on an inner page.

Hi! I checked your site! It looks like a good site, I like it! The only thing is I don't understand why you show the same slot games in the middle and on the right side, you should just pick one place to put them and use the other space for other information! But that's just my point of view! Overall, I think it is a good site! Congrats!

Hello. I've checked your website. It's a good one. Here are some of my concerns:

First of all, the "Play For Free- click on slot game image" section below the betsafe banner with those puppies, kindly check on the anchor links of the slot banners. Most of them have errors on the link, pointing to a broken URL. If you'll check it on your site, you'll see what I mean.

Then my next concern is that there are too many right sidebar banners that extends to a great lenght, using up very large space without any content. I think it's better if you'll just show up only 5 banners at a time. You can divide these banners to five, then rotate them in a group for let's say for 5 seconds, each banner will change.

Another concern is the Betsafe Online Casino Reviews right sidebar. Though it is SEO-friendly to always include the keyword "betsafe online casino" on the anchor texts, in my opinion, it is better to drop them in the second review link and so on, so as it will not look very spammy (just an opinion).

All good suggestions:
I have fixed almost all your suggestions. All except the slow upload. That will take some more work, but it has to be done before I can convert well.

The repeat of "Online Casino Reviews" on the sidebar menu is a WP plugin taking the tittle of the page and making a menu out of it. It i s my first year and I am in the playpen with Wordpress. I do believe wordpress in combo with all my images and banners is why I am so slow in up loading. I do need to check on the speed of my server as well.


I really do appreciate the constructive criticisms.

With the site being live it MUST keep the copyright links.
Either that or design a theme yourself if you want to keep removing the copyright link(s).

I don't mean to sound harsh but you get a decent free WP theme to use. The only requirement is to KEEP the footer links in tack.
Which are as follows:

5 seconds??? I have dreamed about that. I am looking into a UK server now. I am thinking a DUAL with GB Ram and 100 Mbps.... will that be a 5 sec server? I mean if I take a few banners off so I dont hurt anybodies eyes? Seriously I need some guidance. I dont want to spend more than 125$ a month so I am shopping hard.

Cathy, those links aren't Dave's buddies. They belong to the person who designed the theme that you get to use for free. This has nothing to do with buddies, it has to do with complying with "terms of use".

Please, the snide comments aren't appropriate. Dave would be the first one to come to your aid if someone stole your content and you asked for help.

I just simple do not know how to communicate properly.

Let me first explain why there are two signatures on different posts. Cathy is my wife of 30 years and she started communicating on the forum 1st. You can see that in our profile. Now I have taken over almost 100%. She has done some great things with fresh bread and oatmeal raisin cookies in the kitchen and wants to spend more time there. We hardly go anywhere or see many people. We live in the mountains in Costa Rica. I am not too practiced at communicating online. I apologize again for my feelings being badly expressed. I have very good friendly loving feelings for everyone on this forum with out exception. Expressing these feelings I obviously am VERY BAD AT. Perhaps I am using too much familiarity with strangers. Somebody talks to me and I feel I know them already. I will surely keep my remarks much drier... no problem.

I am not good at many many things. I wish that were not the case. But I will trod along doing the best I can. What else can a person do.

Let me take this opportunity to thank everyone who has bothered to post a reply. I feel I have learned a great deal by following a few leads of criticism. And boy do I need it. I am a slow learner. My capacity is not as strong as many of you.

The load times on this site need to be optimised. Honestly most visitors will just hit the back button cause it takes too long to load.

I use a 20Mbit d/l link.
All I see (up to 10 sec) is a white window.

That's a total of over 671Kb large images served from your host. In addition to the actually page and its scripts, css etc...etc

As far as your home page it's the same scenario except far worse. Casinos and such can generally push out larger files and content because they are on their own server, which utilises heaps more resources and dedicated bandwidth...a lot more than you have on your shared hosting account.

On your home page alone there is over 1Meg of images being served. Again that's whilst your page, scripts, css etc...etc are also trying to load.

To help you visually why your page is taking ages to load...Think of it like this....Your trying push a coconut down a garden hose.

Seriously lose most of the images and instead use text links. Add some text content to you site, make it interesting to people (not search engines). The home page is ok to promote on but don't make it look like a Billboard or a hard sell.

Stickiness and having people return is also just as important as obtaining SE rankings.

Instead of worrying about SEO this and that, get your site loading quickly. Don't just write content to impress Google and what not.

I am trying very hard. I appreciate the patience and help. I am determined to make this work. I don't care if I am slow. I will learn. And i am. This is my first site and the next will be much better.

This is the 3rd time I have revamped every page. If I knew a year ago what I know now I could of had 3 greta site done by now. Once I revamped every page it to accommodate the new FREE theme. This time I have redone most of Mac Online Casino reviews and the deposit method posts.(140 Deposit pages alone) I now am headed over to the Slot games. This time I am slashing pics, banners and making it more readable. I hear you loud and clear on the " make it interesting to people". I want to do my next site with the writing style I used on Slotland

It is more readable. My writing skills, SEO skills as well as my metal conceptual capacity has improved a lot since I started this new carrier more than a year ago. It is mostly good for me. I could have never have written that Slotland review a year ago... at all. Now I am working on my social skills here at the GPWA. They are very crude... I see that. Without voice inflections that you would have in normal speech, it can get hairy. My social communications will improve with time. My intentions are good. I am hoping you will see that with time as well.

For livecasinodirectory (new upcoming site) I am thinking not to use a WP them. I have the suspicion that It loads slower than a normal Dream Weaver theme. But it takes me soooo long to learn code... it sort of scares me. I mean NO PROBLEM, I can learn it and I would enjoy the learning, but it would take me a longtime. I need to start converting or .. or... well never mind.

I do want to have more graphics than most sites. I used-to-be an artist and am imagery orientated. I like my charts with all the image symbols. And some banners from some casinos are very pleasant when they are flash. I will be using videos as well. So i am wanting to have a fast server. Believe it or not I am on a DED now. Godaddy economical with a single core, 2GB ram and no telling how small the Mpbs connection speed is. But it is slow. I want to change to a UK server with 4GB of Ram, duo or Quade core and a 100Mbps connection. I will get one in the next few weeks to see how the heavy Mac-online site responds. If it is fast enough then I will stay with a WP them for the next site.

So I hear two different sides to my slow site dilemma.
ONE- heavy images and banners
TWO- my slow server.

Both are valid points. So I am working it both ends. I am developing a new eye for page layout with large images in a pop open view if the reader wants to see them, and using much less of them. I am Using links instead of banners on the pages for a call to action. And my next step will be not to use WP again if i decide that it is bogging things down.

So again thanks for responding in this thread so calmly. Now that I don't feel being defensive will add to the fire let me add.... I don't really know when the 4 links where eliminated. I slashed a lot of things in the theme. I didn't know that there were 2 more to add back. I have placed them in the footer as well but I see they are needing attention because the last two are off to the side. And lastly... I didn't mean to snub you nor Judy. and and and ... that's it. Lots of wind today hey!!!
