what is the problem with neteller?

Even as a VIP with dedicated support, most times they're as useless as tits on a bull - if keeping ones sanity in check is important you'd best have a little contact as possible.

However if I had to choose between Neteller and moneybookers, I'd pick Neteller. I had a MB account but that kept getting hit with attempted hacks, so I closed it. MB would lock after each attempted hacks and trying to contact them was a bloody nightmare. MB might be great for UK residents cause they're protected by consumer laws. however for anyone not in the UK, MB like Neteller can be a PITA.

I must say that I have never had any problems with Neteller and have been with them for 10 years or so, but they peeved me off when the whole UIGEA came about in terms of the way they messed around the USA affiliates.

You should consider getting the "security key" from Moneybookers, and let the hackers try all they want

If you don´t see an option to request the security key just contact them and ask for it, (I think it cost me around $15, it´s free for VIP´s, and free for "some" affiliates) it makes me sleep good at night

Fees back then were reasonable.

I am sure that the customer service staff is smaller now that they no longer service the US market, but it was Neteller who I feel originally set the stage for ewallets, and frankly I haven't seen one live up to their speed and efficiency since they left the market.

And recommending Moneybookers is certainly NOT a good idea in my opinion. Just spend some time reading up on them here and maybe you can see why.

Well i could say something similar, many americans don´t understand that neteller, partypoker etc is not the same anymore as it was pre 2006

I had my neteller account before 2006, and had no problems, the problems started AFTER. So, I guess all the things you miss there are gone now.

When someone mention hacks etc. I just feel like telling about the security key which is a very good option regarding safety (Which to my knowledge Neteller does not have).

And, I am not sure which problems regarding Moneybookers you are talking about... If it´s the Fulltilt issue, lol (if not, please link)... Neteller, Visa, Mastercard and you name it still transfer money INTO Fulltilt accounts, so go blacklist all them

Thought I'd comment on this. It's true - and a valid point - that the credit cards shouldn't be processing to Full Tilt. But - if I'd deposited into Full Tilt via my card and now couldn't withdraw, I could legitimately claim my deposits back via a chargeback. This isn't an option with Moneybookers - they won't refund wasted deposits. And yeah, I've asked them.

Very good point regarding credit cards and chargebacks, and another reason players should just use credit cards, since most players that can use Moneybookers and Neteller can also deposit with a normal credit card !

I don´t see why Neteller is better than Moneybookers if only looking at the Fulltilt issue, since they both let players transfer money into Fulltilt accounts. I believe both Neteller and Moneybookers players on Fulltilt have problems getting money. (FT must be short on cool cash)


Another thing I don´t like about Neteller is some of the promotions they have, like: Transfer xxx and get yy cashback..... How much does this cost affiliates in processing fees ??? So if i refer my players to neteller, neteller will be the ones making money, and I will be hit with all the fees that Neteller earns from unclassy promotions. If I had a poker room, i would tell them to f... off, and remove that option if I saw such promotions.

Neteller are becoming really security conscious these days. I don't mind though, I think this is a good thing. There are so many hackers and spammers on the Internet, they are just trying to better protect their customers. Once you send them your documents and get your identity verified, your account should run perfectly. Neteller are fantastic, I've been with them for years

About 2 days ago I was very mad on Neteller. They forced me to change the password, secure ID and to add some stupid security questions. Then, they simply blocked my account and forced me to call them to unlock it.

I've tried to call 3 times from my mobile but their answering machine has not recognized my account number Anyway, I've requested the call back and in 5-6 hours my account was unlocked... but I was really really mad because they blocked my account when I did nothing wrong.

Also I hate when they are blocking an account when you logging in from different countries. That's too much security for an e-wallet, LOL.

They don't do that any more. Well not for me anyway and over the last 2.5 years I have logged in from various countries. I also confirmed this before I started traveling when I spoke with one of the customer service people.

I logged in earlier today and had to do the three security questions things. What annoyed me was that there was no option to create my own questions so this leaves no other choice except choose a question and answer with some random word and now i have to remember the questions and answers. A good security system should not use standard questions, such as pet's name, first school etc, because it's too easy for identity thieves to bypass.

For me they are the best of a bad bunch and on par with Moneybookers which I also use. Kind of like banks, necessary and a pain in the ... to deal with regularly.

Yes, I think they can do it for a specific account by request.

And about the security questions, you are absolutely right, moreover.. most people will write everything in TXT file and keep it on their computers, but it's very easy to hack the PC (especially windows).

So I think in this case they must also provide the detailed instruction how to protect the folder and files with the passwords. I guess about 90% of PC users don't know how to do it...
