Default Work at Home, Get Rich Gradually

The below thread started due to a spam post promoting a "work at home" get rich quick scheme. But since a lot of us GPWA members work from home it is creating some interesting discussion, so instead of removing the thread I've edited out the spammer's link and welcome everyone to join in. (Also moved the thread to an appropriate section.)

    Default Working From Home

If anybody thinks its a walk in the park when working from home, then they must think twice. One thing I can say about working from home is that I have doubled my hours in a working day and not my salary. I am not saying that you can not acheive this, but you need to work very hard indeed. Can anybody add to my thoughts. Cheers K

I work from home now and although if I put more hours in I dont earn more as I am on a salary. However, I enjoy what I do so working a couple of hours at night or answering a couple of emails or MSN's over the weekend isnt much of a chore especially when its helping my program.

Oh and the first post is Spam.

I'm not quite sure this is in the right forum... I'm not quite sure it isn't an auto-post either.

Regardless, working from home is a royal pain It's not as easy as all the adds for 'internet jobs' suggest. It's work Hard work.

I like to work from home It was my dream, my aim and I'd
    achieved
that. Of course, my working day now is more than 8 hours, usually I work 10-12 hours, but I really enjoy it.

Of course, working at home is not for everyone, if you can't organize your working day you won't have any success. For the first time it was very difficult for me, but now my working day is very well organized. Now I even every 1,5 hours have a 20-30 minutes rest, where I do some sports exercises and exercises for my eyes.

Excellent! I need to get into that myself, I find myself working up to 20 hours and only stop to eat and, well, you know. Now that I have the new lappy I do go outdoors and enjoy the daylight. Just need to develop a better non work ethic.

I can add you will need to be self motivated and not let yourself beat down by well, nothing.... recently i lost 2 sites in a host due to hack and i have been working double since then... being your boss can be a pain since you have no1 to crack the wipe on your back so staying dedicated and motivated even when your not getting a fortune can be the key... im home now 2 years and work hard and long hours and still have a low\medium salary. In many months i had a low income. Now im geting in poker and i hope i can make a more steady income. Still its hard work. Motivation is a prime factor i think

I think its the passion that brings out the best in me. I just love the entire atmosphere of gambling and always have, the games, the fun, the people i meet...and now the promoting part. if you enjoy what your working with, it makes it soooooooooooo easy to do. i don't even call it a job, i consider it retirement.

the more effort a guy puts into it, hopefully, the more he will make.

    have a good weekend everyone!
    Joe

In theory I'm supposed to be "studying" for my exams attempting to find a medical specialty somewhere. The truth is, I'm having more fun working on my pc than I could ever have working anywhere else..

The biggest benefit is being able to stay home and being a father. If it wasn't for the fact I could stay home I wouldn't been able to really know my son .. or should I say.. best friend.. lol

Since I enjoy online marketing it doesn't really feel like work. It's fun.

Good points brought up. Working from home is not a cake walk. You have to be self motivated and be able to differentiate between your personal life and business.

I will say this, the morning traffic isn't to bad anymore

    Good Thread!!

I work from home and from an office so have experience of both.

When at home I am lucky to have my own "home office" that I can shut the door on. It is important that people at home realise that you are at work. Sometimes it is hard with my young children who see Daddy at home and love to show me their constant stream of pictures etc..
