Anyone having success with Google+?

We're currently reviewing our social profiles and can see how having an active Google+ profile would be beneficial to our SEO efforts.

Does anyone have much success using G+ as a social platform, if so in what way? or is it just a tick in the box for SEO?

A lot of people will tell you it is dead.. I enjoy it over FB and find myself getting a good handful of followers.. But honestly, I would say just another tick in the box for seo.. Use it if you enjoy it, if not.. I wouldn't bother.

it's beneficial for back-links if you use the right tags.. a few news sites scour it and I have picked up a few

I use it a fair bit for publishing new content although the interaction levels with followers is a tiny fraction compared to facebook & twitter. Difficult to tell whether it's truly positive or negative, however for the minimal additional effort it takes I'll carry on using it for the time being.

Just a tick in a box social signal, might have a tiny affect on rankings but nothing compared to the boost it gave you when they first brought it out when I did incredibly well out of it for a 12 month period. Then they seemed to turn it off overnight and the boost was gone.

I feel google + is actually growing again, it seemed to die but we have seen a growth in the last few months, it seems more popular in mainland europe and the USA, the seo ranking boost definitely does have an affect.

It's just another tick for SEO, but I also do get the occasional visitor who finds my site through a news story that I posted on a Google+ page.

Had my first interaction for a fair few weeks the other day, was someone who'd added me by mistake (same name as their brother) and was asking me not-too-politely to stop posting stuff that they could see . The previous one to that was from a competitor gleefully pointing out a typo in the copy, not the most valuable of interactions!

I`ve only had my Google+ site for a few months, and I get click to my sites from the G+ site every now and then. I cant say that it is much, but if I post to our Facebook page, I post the same content on G+.

G+ or any social media is good for branding. Fresh traffic? It shouldn't be your motivator.

We do not work with Google+. My opinion is to first have Control over Facebook and twitter. These 2 are more common for consumers. And it is already hard work to build up a loyal base of likes and followers on these 2 platforms. In this competitive business focus is key i think. If you choose a traffic source go for it. Don't do it a bit or only try it. Go for it all the way and focus on the traffic source you think you can score on.
We are still setting up twitter and Facebook which is hard enough.

G+ = Google so I'm sure it's profitable. That's the only reason I use it.

I agree with BB Casino that it's hard to optimize your social media channel. Social Media Management is another skill than website things....

Google plus always helps me to increase my site traffic and backlinks as well. You just have to take care to add people in your google plus profile or page. The more you have target oriented profiles, the more google plus will help you. Try also to create collections of your products and services. And join as most communities which are related to your business. Communities helps the most from google plus.

Google plus is a time waster in my opinion.
